Well it would seem I doubled since the 10k hits.I felt you guys deserved a treat at picking the next topic as to what the pic was going to be, and it seems Jack and Sheri was the most demanded.
So since you wanted Jack and Sheri, I gave you Jack and Sheri...WITH CLASS!
A fine attire for both of them for the occasion. I know 20k hits don't mean dick to all those pros out there, but it means a lot to a guy like me.
I said it before and I'll say it again; it's one thing where your friends go and praise you because they're your friends you chat with on msn and what not, but the fact you're all total strangers and can honestly enjoy my work, well that makes me feel all funny inside.
BUT ENOUGH OF THAT SHIT, time to RANT! (since a couple people addressed that they like my page-long rants)
Obviously you noticed Jack and Sheri are slightly changed, their hair is nicely groomed and they're wearing attire that is completely out of their element. But you know what?! We can still tell that it's Jack and Sheri!
I took advantage of the fact that I was going to be doing Jack and Sheri again and decided to try something out. I wanted to make them dress differently and change their hair. The reason for this was to prove one point to people.
If an artists' characters are only differentiated based upon their hairstyle and eye/skin colour, then that artist must seriously revise his/her characters.
When I draw characters, I want them each to look unique as much as possible, no two characters should look the same (unless was designed that way intentionally).
The shape of their face, figure, eye shape, everything! I take advantage of all these factors to make characters unique. If all my male characters look like Jack Rye, and all my female characters looked like Sheri...well that'd just be redundant and stupid.
So here Jack and Sheri are COMPLETELY out of their element. No hat for Jack, and has slicked back hair, and Sheri's hair isn't all spikey. (which is more like the original pic of her in the bio. She must've gotten ahold of a proper brush and scissors).
Besides, they both look good dressed up for evening event. Probably James Bond stuff in another dimension after their Adventure from Felarya lol.

Wow, Sherri looks absolutely GORGEOUS! If she ever goes to a formal dance, I'd advise her to use that dress. And one other thing: Just how much did she DRINK to get drunk (Unless she's just blushing)?!? No wonder Jack looks worried...you do fantastic work, I must say.

It's Funny how Jack is nervous even when she's dressed! Love it!!! Your expressions are always amazing. I especially like the detail in the drapery of the clothing and the curtain! All of it is so detailed and VERY well done, if I have disappointment in anything it I'd say maybe the floor. I think it's because everything else is so sharp and vibrant and it's soft and not as detailed lacks a bit of depth. BUT that's hardly important it's a wonderful piece!

the story is obvious, Sherri forced Jack to come to a party they've been invited to, Jack later loses it and jumps out of the nearest window which also happens to be on the 2nd or 3rd floor of the building and runs off into the dark night with sherri following behind him.
LOL.

I'm not sure if you're away, but the entire Rye family names are composed of liquor. I'm not a big drinker so I don't know all too many names.

I've heard of the show, but I have no idea what it's about, or the liquor fact you mentioned. But that's amazing! I better look up some names from that show sometime! lol
As for Sheridan's name, it's an irish name that means 'wild'.

The manga is better, it is a bunch of short stories. It is also the manga that finally pushed me to try my hand at drawing.
lol, my favorite creature from the series is the Por Vora.
And as for Sheridan's name meaning wild, Sherry kinda has the same meaning or atlest leads to wildness, lol.

Ah ok i saw coloured pictures of yours before and noticed his redheaded nature. ^^
Its just in the comic he looks so blond for me that i somehow started to image him as blond. ^^
Oh no its like when you read a book and went into cinema, and then all your own imagining of the characters is going to be destroyed. ^^

His hair looks very bright in grey and in colour, its enourmus darker.
For me its just looking to bright. ^^

Well, in every black and white image you have in your gallery, Jack's hair always appears as white, thus giving the impression that Jack was brightly colored hair. Perhaps slightly shading his hair might keep people from getting confused (I knew it was red, just trying to give some helpful advice).
Also, good to see the rants again. Though I can understand why you wouldn't always put one up. Like you said earlier on another image, you want to see what your audience thinks without any influence, which is understandable. I just don't want to see them disappear for good. I enjoy them.
I liked what you've done with this image. Even though you had the same situation as your 10k image, you still managed to put a unique spin on it.
Finally, like you said, it is important for characters to be unique and recognizable. While this is especially true for main characters, will you also extend this notion toward side characters and other usually generic characters? Take the Delurans for example. They have some pretty good sized armies (Though quite weak) at their disposal. To many people, that would usually mean dividing up the entire army into groups of "Generic Guy A" and "Generic Guy B". Do you have any plans on dealing with the sheer amount of people the Delurans would have, while still putting your own unique spin on it?

I see what you mean by jack having white hair in the comics being blond. The reason why I leave the hair white is because the way other japanese artist portray red haired character in their comic pages is black and white. Yu yu Hakusho (never read it) Kenshin and other stuff. For some reason the Japanese professionals seem to leave it white. *shrugs* who am I to argue with the professionals?
You address towards the Deluran soldiers was very well founded. While some people do exactly as you say and simply make two types of generic characters, I play with them. It's time to do some extreme, exaggerated and humorous features on them. Really long noses, mega underbites and other fun things to make them different. Since they're background characters not too much thought need to be done for them.
I've already designed a brand new uniform scheme for Delurans and their leading characters. I felt they should look and behave VERY foreign, after all, they're from another dimension for God's sake.
