I realized I hadn't attempted any of the Young Jedi Knight characters in a really long time, and ended up with this. Don't ask me why she's naked... I originally just didn't feel like painting scales. And then I did the background... My laziness is selective. Don't judge.Also on Tumblr !
EDIT: Almost forgot her eyes are supposed to be gray, not blue...

If only they made movies with characters like her,Instead of the crap they tried to feed us with the latest movies. Tenel is by far my favorite Jedi outside of the Old republic

Oh man, my friend and I were just reminiscing about YJK and NJO, and this whole gang of young jedi! I should go back and reread some of that soon, you're right, they were so much fun. I've really been feeling a return to Star Wars books, and with fewer of the newly published ones catching my eye I might go back to old familiar EU. We'll see!

Tenel Ka is one of my all-time favorite EU characters - I love seeing her here. Her hair is lovely and I dig the background. That Wolverton version of Dathomir remains my preferred take on that culture.

Yes... I think I'd be more into the Clone Wars version of "Dathomir" if they'd just called that planet something else instead / not co-opted the term Nightsisters. I know I'm the minority report when it comes to The Courtship of Princess Leia, but the world can rip the Singing Mountain Clan from my cold, dead hands.
Legends EU isn't perfect, but I still love lots of the stories.
Anyway - this is a lovely drawing, and I enjoyed the trip down memory lane!

It's all right. You did very well. It's not often I get to see artwork of Tenel Ka but it's always welcome. I'm also curious to see how different artists portray non-movie Star Wars characters. Plus I like redheads.

I agree, though. It's not often we get to see a lot of EU characters portrayed, especially now that the EU I've come to know and love is 'Legacy' now. I'm not 100% sold on whether I like this look for TK or not, but it was fun for a quick sketch!

Thank you for your words. Considering Disney is now in charge, I'm going to take the Legends to strange new places. Possibly through art and alternate endings. I've got a lot of those in my gallery. I even did a Mother's Day tribute featuring Saba and Tesar Sebatyne from the New Jedi Order saga. Saba is one of my favorite Barabels. I remember seeing and hearing about them in Shadows of the Empire and Dark Force Rising.
