Personally, I like 'em both. But what I never understood is that, if you look objectively at their attitudes and statements, Tali is just as much of a Xenophobic Hawk as Ashley is and yet only Ashley gets flamed for it.
My guess: Since Tali is an 'alien', her anti-alien views are not as offensive because their not from a 'human' point of view.

Tali is cute, smart and wants what is best for Shepard as well telling him that he deserves to be happy and that she can't do that.

agreed. That's why Shepard is going to keep them separate for as long as he can before he can make his decision in the fanfic :/.
These situations can't be controlled, when you're torn between two lovers. That's why I love this piece so much, because the emotions of this choice were captured wonderfully, with Zack Shepard almost being pulled in two different directions
