Actually, I like the retro panels with buttons and dials kinda makes it seem more alien. That must be an important chair on the left with it's own set of steps wonder what that panel does?

That panel is leveled up for the crew to see ship's external hardware more easily.

I can only guess at the amount of time it took to model, render and retouch that scene.
But, from my experience that image is a labour of love worthy of being added to my Heroic Skill collection.

Lovely lighting, view and finish, no sight of that infernal 'futuristic' blue lighting which over the long term can be annoying to the eye, much prefer the yellow/white light on the screens and panels. Clearly this ship had a good interior designer
I can really imagine being on this ship, so much so that I think I though it through a little too much so please excuse my queries: I can't help but wonder, what purpose does the chair on the raised platform to the left serve? It looks a little to low set for taking in the view from the windows. Ummm.... actually, please don't think I'm ragging on you, but if the chair is proportional to the people using it, aren't the windows on the left a little to high to see through...

You are right about that, my only explanation would be that it is for observing an outside device or part of the ship, which is a little higher than the cockpit level, and the little control panel would be for the adjustments of sun panels on it maybe, etc...

Awesome piece. Very simple design but seems like it'd be fully functional. For those that think the interior isn't high tech enough, just pretend that all the holographic displays are offline.

but when dreamwa1ker would set the scene into 60's sf, I'd say we are in the late 70's, you know like the interior/color schemes of star trek - the movie (1979), or the sf series "space: 1999" from 1975 (especially visible here: [link] ), or carl sagan's tv mini-series documentary "cosmos" (1980)...

well, I grew up with those sweeties, so it was very familiar to me immediately...
aaah, I'd sell my (non existing) soul owning a ship like that... no... better living in that time line... meh... I've been born 200-300 years to early...
