Reminds me of Carl Sagan's dandelion spaceship on PBS-TV's "Cosmos".

Actually, I like the retro panels with buttons and dials kinda makes it seem more alien. That must be an important chair on the left with it's own set of steps wonder what that panel does?

Siamon89 In reply to Aarrd [2013-06-07 18:25:41 +0000 UTC]

That panel is leveled up for the crew to see ship's external hardware more easily.

Captain: Aaw Yuki, you're the only one on this ship that I can trust for a decent cop of coffee.
Yuki:Well I try sir.
Olson: Thank you.
Yuki: I couldn't but notice the error on your "Trim Angle". You might want to adjust it.
Olson: Hey you're right. Thanks for telling me.
Captain: Hehehe. Now that's a cut from your pay.
Olson: Laugh it up. But when I get back home...
Statham: Then we're sending you back to the Academy.
Yuki: I hear they started making tests for awareness, I don't think he's going to make it.
All: Ahahaha.
Olson: Well good luck on your nest exam Yuki.
Yuki: Thanks.

Hey, that's something else!
I can only guess at the amount of time it took to model, render and retouch that scene.
But, from my experience that image is a labour of love worthy of being added to my Heroic Skill collection.

Lovely lighting, view and finish, no sight of that infernal 'futuristic' blue lighting which over the long term can be annoying to the eye, much prefer the yellow/white light on the screens and panels. Clearly this ship had a good interior designer

I can really imagine being on this ship, so much so that I think I though it through a little too much so please excuse my queries: I can't help but wonder, what purpose does the chair on the raised platform to the left serve? It looks a little to low set for taking in the view from the windows. Ummm.... actually, please don't think I'm ragging on you, but if the chair is proportional to the people using it, aren't the windows on the left a little to high to see through...

Siamon89 In reply to Crydwyn [2011-02-08 20:03:25 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for extensive comments (=.

You are right about that, my only explanation would be that it is for observing an outside device or part of the ship, which is a little higher than the cockpit level, and the little control panel would be for the adjustments of sun panels on it maybe, etc...

Excellent work. Nice to see a spacious spaceship for once. Those other cramped ones are a pain to work in.

Awesome piece. Very simple design but seems like it'd be fully functional. For those that think the interior isn't high tech enough, just pretend that all the holographic displays are offline.

aaah... smooth and nice colors like usual! + ^^
but when dreamwa1ker would set the scene into 60's sf, I'd say we are in the late 70's, you know like the interior/color schemes of star trek - the movie (1979), or the sf series "space: 1999" from 1975 (especially visible here: [link] ), or carl sagan's tv mini-series documentary "cosmos" (1980)...

well just my ...

well, I grew up with those sweeties, so it was very familiar to me immediately...

aaah, I'd sell my (non existing) soul owning a ship like that... no... better living in that time line... meh... I've been born 200-300 years to early...
