Description 9"x9", colored pencil on black paper
8 hours of work
Model: Purrfect [link] , photographed by `velociraptor , lives with ~cat-crazy

I elongated the face a bit from the original photo. That wasn't intentional (I tend to distort proportions when I'm out of practice), but I think it turned out well anyway. Her expression is just a bit more... um... disturbed?

Thanks. The paper isn't actually that true of a black, but if I leave the paper texture in the digital version it seriously distracts from the image. Plus, if I make prints I don't want residual paper texture printing on the genuine paper texture.

That's really good. I wouldn't have thought the face was elongated. You've got the texture down nicely. You can easily tell the apart the cat and the tags.

I'm really enjoying these pieces on black paper, I think the black paper really sets off your abilities in a more dramatic way then can be achieved often on the white paper. Keep up the great work!!
