Lovely painting. Great shading and details and the background really works well with the rest of the painting.

I am usually scared of bugs, but this one of yours is definitely a beauty, with its colors and nice rendition. Nice works in your gallery too.

I've had a lot of people say that about my work. The odd thing is that I had never really seen very much of his work (other than 'persistance of memory', which eveyone has seen) until I did a report on him last semester.
I'm glad you like it. The background was my favorite part too...

Sadly because it's always the part that I spend the least time on, and don't really plan out that turns out the best.

your work is really soft. it seems like really think about where you are going to put color ... i like the light and airy look, but part of me feels like when you get close ... there is nothing to hold your attention. it might have not tranfered on to computer, but i still like it. it is a lot better then have the shit out there.

After seeing what you are able to do with acrylics, I'm tempted to give them a second chance. I'm just not very good with them... they dry too quickly for me.

Very well done! It's interesting... Reminds of the Mechanical Hound in the book Fahrenheit 451.
Half animal, half machine.

No, I haven't read anything else by Ray Bradbury, but I'll definitely look into it.
George Orwell is an amazing author. I just read Animal Farm and plan on reading 1984 this summer.
He has very interesting political views, and very scary metaphores for our modern way of life.
I've been seriously thinking lately about developing a plan for me to move out of America.
This summer I want to visit Canada for atleast a week. I think Canada would be a much better atmosphere for children, if I ever have any. I really don't want to stay in America though, atleast not in a large city.

Canada does seem like a nicer place... from the little bit that I've seen of it. George Orwell is a wonderful author, with some very interesting views, and those are both great books. Have you read Brave New World by Aldous Huxley? If you want to see a scary reflection of today's society, that's the book to read. Whereas Orwell's worlds are ruled by force and manipulation, Huxley envisioned a world where people allowed themselves to be ruled and manipulated by the government because the government gave them every form of superficial pleasure they could wish for. It's disturbing to see how closely our current situation resembles a cross between 1984 and Brave New World.

I was excited when I found those!
I've heard of Brave New World, but haven't read it. I'll have to definitely add it to my list of things to read, if I ever get time.
I have a 700 sqft garden I've been working on the last few days.
130 strawberry plants, and that's just the beginning. It's crazy!!!
I plan on going to college and majoring in English and minoring in Psychology and becoming a HS English Teacher in an attempt to perpetuate awareness and understanding of the current state of our modern society.
*Sadness...*

Yeah, that's awesome that they're making movies out of both of those! Teaching is a very noble profession to go into. And one where I think it is possible to really make a difference in the future, at least in a small way. But small things add up and become greater than their beginnings. I was thinking about going into psychology for a while, or writing, or music, or history, or programming, or any number of other things... My interests are extremely varied. I guess that we really have the same goal though -- to open people's eyes to the world around them. I like your quote too, by the way. Have fun with the garden, I haven't taken time to do anything like that in years.
