PERSONALITY

   Positive trait || Optimistic | Coral, for all his faults, is incredibly optimistic. Almost no matter what happens to him, after he gets over whatever childish tantrum that he may throw, he remains positive and cheerful about current events and the future for what it holds and can inspire and cheer up older clanmates with his childish innocence and positivity about the world around him. He uses it to his advantage currently, and it will benefit him greatly as he grows.

   Positive trait || Kind | He makes it a point to be as kind as possible to others, as it's in his nature for the most part. This often includes trying to be as helpful as possible where he’s able and sometimes he accidentally gets in the way but it's not intentional. He’s only really witnessed good things come of being helpful to others and kind-hearted as well, so it's only encouraged him to do so over his other traits.

   Positive trait || Witty | He’s sort of gained a quick reputation around some adults as becoming witty with his quick and inventive humor and how he seems to conjure up some kind of remark that borders the sarcastic at times when he’s talked to on the occasion, particularly if he’s feeling moody or mildly upset and trying to conceal it with humor though he’s not very good at that. It's sort of adorable at this stage in life, and gives others a decent chuckle when they hear him say something that throws them off.

   Neutral trait || Emotional | He has a bit of an emotional problem that seems to mainly stem from his oversensitivity with noises and even minorly stressful situations and sometimes it’s set off by the strangest occasions. Most times, it's worsened from the other kits teasing him and them calling him ‘crybaby’ doesn’t help. In times like these he seeks out the comfort of others or hides away to try and deal with it on his own. He knows that his mother and the other mollies tend to get tired running around all the time, so he doesn’t want to be a burden.

Neutral trait || Outspoken | Despite being called a cry baby, he is incredibly outspoken and not afraid to speak his mind if he believes someone needs to hear it. He’s very capable of defending himself with his words and almost bluntly so, which could bring on another set of problems if he ends up angering another clanmate (or sibling). But, he does articulate what he wants and what he needs very well because of it and sometimes some of the elders have taken him to calling him Loudkit instead.

   Neutral trait || Self-conscious | Along with being emotional, he’s also incredibly self conscious about himself physically. This could be good in the fact that he tries to take better care of himself and how he appears to others if he can help it, but it also makes him feel inferior to others when he notices that it appears he's not as good as they are at something and it can shatter rather easily when he becomes a crying mess. He wants to be just as good as they are or better, and wants to live up to the expectation of his parents so he judges himself harshly, even though it shouldn’t really matter at this age.

  Negative trait || Thievish | Despite all his good qualities, Coral unfortunately has a theft streak that borders more on the klepto side. He doesn’t mean it, and doesn’t quite understand why it’s so bad to take things from others that he really likes. Quite often, he takes things without even realizing it and he’s very good at it, mollies have had to uncover an occasional stash of missing beads and small pieces of bone from time to time. However, as he gets older he’s beginning to realize that he can get away with it if he doesn’t get caught, and it’s not a good habit even if he doesn’t mean it for harm and more for harmless trickery. (And maybe to get back at a brother or sister…)

  Negative trait || Sly | He’s a little deceitful. He’s fairly good at lying and his usually kind nature only masks the fact that he sort of uses his sly nature for occasional ‘nefarious’ deeds that usually line up fairly well with his petty nature as well. It’s not often that he uses this, mainly only if he’s trying to avoid getting caught with having taken something he wasn’t supposed to or mild trouble for misbehaving but he doesn’t mean any real harm by being a little devious and plotting out things (but not always acting on them) from time to time.

Negative trait || Petty | He’s petty. Coral isn't against holding a passive aggressive grudge against anyone who he feels has wronged him, even over something insignificant and stupid. He vaguely feigns politeness with a condescending tone that usually results in not cooperating or being manipulative about it but he hasn’t mastered this yet and sometimes gets chastised for it by the mollies for taking it out on his siblings and other kits especially. He’s likely to use his sly nature as well to get around this as a retaliation, but he’s slowly learning that this isn’t exactly okay.

HISTORY

  BEFORE BIRTH ||
Before the birth of Coralkit, Boakit, and Cobrakit, Adderfang and Viperstrike were two young warriors known throughout the clan for being a bit different. Viperstrike, known for her grumpy disposition and rather harsh way of living, was the last cat anyone expected to have much in the way of close friends. Adder as well, after losing all of his family and becoming withdrawn into himself after being known throughout his earlier life as a half-clan cat and a trouble maker. Being paired up on patrol one day however changed all of that- the two lonely cats quickly became friends much to everyone's surprise.

Viperstrike and Adderfang only became closer during the dog invasion. Viper, getting captured by the dogs to save Adderfang’s life, thought it was over for her until Adderfang went against clan leadership to go save her. In doing so, they learned a lot of valuable information for the future, but their friendship grew stronger mostly over their appreciation for each other as valiant warriors. While Viperstrike recovered from her trauma, Adderfang did his best around the clan to make up for her time in the med den, and dedicated his free time to visiting her. Over time, it became apparent to everyone that perhaps there was a little more than friendship involved, but they couldn’t see it.

Only after Adderfang, Viperstrike, Kitewing, Boulderheart, and Lizardsoul all set off to invade a dog camp, Viperstrike admitted her feelings publicly for him before becoming the group’s bait. Surprised, but not displeased, Adder only prayed for their safe return. After the long night, Viperstrike and Adderfang talked about the events and how they should go on...both agreeing to become mates after a heartfelt night of talking over their fears.

Shortly after, Adderfang was made Deputy and Viperstrike couldn't be happier for him, even if they were about to go to war. The two said their goodbyes when they were split for the battle patrol, not knowing that Viperstrike was pregnant. After the battle proved successful and the dogs had been run off the land they made the discovery and the soon to be parents were ecstatic, if Viper wasn’t a bit grumpier than usual; mood swings, cravings, and the very angry hissing at the mollies or at Nighttide, who shared the den with the older she-cat made it evident that it was going to be a hell of a ride. When they were born, they named their triplets after snakes as well, to keep the family tradition alive.

  KIT-HOOD ||

Coral is still young and hasn’t experienced much yet, but he knows that he lives a special life. He looks up to his father, the deputy, and loves his mother, brother, and sister, and especially his aunts. As an energetic child, all who encounter him generally think well of him, though he is a bit sensitive emotionally and is prone to teasing by the other kits and young apprentices because of it. It does little to deter his bright spirit in the end, however.

While Viperstrike recovered from her trauma, Adderfang did his best around the clan to make up for her time in the med den, and dedicated his free time to visiting her. Over time, it became apparent to everyone that perhaps there was a little more than friendship involved, but they couldn’t see it.

Only after Adderfang, Viperstrike, Kitewing, Boulderheart, and Lizardsoul all set off to invade a dog camp, Viperstrike admitted her feelings publicly for him before becoming the group’s bait. Surprised, but not displeased, Adder only prayed for their safe return. After the long night, Viperstrike and Adderfang talked about the events and how they should go on...both agreeing to become mates after a heartfelt night of talking over their fears.

Shortly after, Adderfang was made Deputy and Viperstrike couldn't be happier for him, even if they were about to go to war. The two said their goodbyes when they were split for the battle patrol, not knowing that Viperstrike was pregnant. After the battle proved successful and the dogs had been run off the land they made the discovery and the soon to be parents were ecstatic, if Viper wasn’t a bit grumpier than usual; mood swings, cravings, and the very angry hissing at the mollies or at Nighttide, who shared the den with the older she-cat made it evident that it was going to be a hell of a ride. When they were born, they named their triplets after snakes as well, to keep the family tradition alive.

  KIT-HOOD ||

Coral is still young and hasn’t experienced much yet, but he knows that he lives a special life. He looks up to his father, the deputy, and loves his mother, brother, and sister, and especially his aunts. As an energetic child, all who encounter him generally think well of him, though he is a bit sensitive emotionally and is prone to teasing by the other kits and young apprentices because of it. It does little to deter his bright spirit in the end, however.
