Was painted for a competition which was held around the theme "feminine-masculine". I painted to self portraits, and this is the feminine one. I tried to use positions and views that somehow indicate femininity. I think that every one of us has a feminine and a masculine self - and our character depends one of these two dominates in us. Considering myself, there are cases when I feel I am more masculine in appereance or in actions, and other cases when I consider myself feminine. So I tried to visualise this duplicity through the self portraits.

Interesting how you made your kind of contrast between the masculine and the feminine Why did you paint the masculine from below and the feminine from above ???

well I don't know exactly, but I have the impression that a picture that is taken from below is not really pretty and have some authoritative feeling in it, while from above its more private and painterly
