I’ve been watching a lot of Death Battle lately. I seriously love these things. Here we have the fight between Metal Mario from Super Mario Bros and Metal Sonic from Sonic the Hedgehog.

Why they should fight – Both are the metal versions of their game’s heroes who were designed to be superior to them, acting as both rivals and enemies.

Battle scenario – Metal Mario goes down a warp pipe that drops from a ceiling, where he lands right on Metal Sonic, who does not appreciate it.

Predicted winner – Not too hard to decide here, the win is going to Metal Sonic. While we don’t see as much of Metal Mario as we do with Metal Sonic, we can make a comparison with their counterparts, regular Mario and Sonic, since both are created to be their superiors. At base level, without either of them using any power ups, Mario is stronger than Sonic, and thus likely would be the case for their Metal counterparts. However, Sonic’s speed puts Mario to utter shame. It doesn’t really matter how much stronger than Sonic Mario is, it won’t do him much good if he’ll never be able to catch his opponent. Sonic would also be able to use his level of speed to attack in ways that would make up for his inferior strength to Mario. The same rules would apply to their Metal versions. And while Metal Mario would have a superior defense, being a living metal statue to Metal Sonic being a robot, Metal Sonic’s speed would be able to attack in ways to make up for that as well. Winner, Metal Sonic.
