You weren't sure why you continued with this job. Sure, there was only one scary animatronic lurking the place but add that to the fact that this place was made to be intentionally scary (and it was doing a pretty good job messing with you) didn't help. That one animatronic, as they had failed to mention, was currently out for your blood. It was your sixth night working here and though you really needed the pay (about $200 a week) you were starting to have second thoughts about the place. You saw things, heard things, and had close scrapes with the thing they called Spring Trap.

You coughed, your eyes beginning to water. Blinking, you expected another hallucination but we're met with darkness. You fell out of your chair and to the floor, coughing violently. Smoke? Could it be?... Looking at the tablet on the wall, you switched to Cam 10 and noticed that through the static, fires blazed.

"I've got to get out of here!" You say, silently thanking whoever made designed the building to put the exit right outside your office. You were right in the doorway when you froze. What about Spring Trap? You couldn't just leave him here. Sure, he had been determined to skin you alive and you could just as easily get back at him by letting him burn, but your conscious wouldn't let you. You knew this was risky, but you couldn't leave him behind. Plus, saving him would make the cops less suspicious of you committing arson. So you called out.

"Spring Trap! Spring Trap where are you? Spring Trap!!" You were reluctant to crawl into the vent near your office and nearly screamed when after a few feet of crawling, you came face to face with the animatronic.

"We have to leave..." You muttered to him as he stared at you. One hand reached out to grab you but you ducked and scooted away.

"Spring Trap, we have to go! This place is on fire!" You scooted back and out of the vent with the animatronic staring for a moment, before following. You bent down, coughing and trying to stay clear of the smog around you. A loud and heavy stomp registered in your ears and you looked up slightly to see the rabbit-like creature looking around. It let out a screech, once, twice, before you stood up in front of him. Of course, he couldn't see you but he felt you gently grab his hands.

"Hold on and follow me." You coughed and led him out to the hallway to the exit. The smoke seemed to lighten a little and Spring Trap's eyes adjusted to focus on your face.

"Let's go." You turned him around, placed one hand on his shoulder and the other on his back and gave him a light push forward. He looked back at you for a moment before taking a few steps towards the exit.

A crackle caught your attention. Looking up, you saw a burning wooden beam falling towards you two. Your instinct to defend kicked in and with all your might, you slammed your palms to Spring Trap. He screeched in surprise as he was forced forward, steadying himself on the wall. He turned to glare and screech at you when he saw you jump back from the burning wood. You coughed and looked back at him through the fire. He wanted to help but he didn't know how and at the same time, he was shocked. Why, after all the times he'd try to kill you, were you so set on saving him?

"Go get help!!" You shouted at him. He nodded in confirmation and left the building, running down the street. Drivers screeched to a halt and early birds stopped dead in their tracks as the near mutilated rabbit ran down the street.

You on the other hand were slowly suffocating. There had to be a way you could hold out until Spring Trap came back... If he came back that was...

"The vents..." You thought. "They might still be working... I might get burned from the metal's heat but it's better than being cooked alive." Your speech was becoming slurred as you climbed over to the vent. Your vision was blurring and your coughs worsened as you made it to the vent and crawled inside. It was still flowing and smoke was racing against your back as you curled into a tight ball and covered your face. You swore you heard a familiar mechanical screech but you blacked out before you could be sure.

Blinding white lights flooded your vision, making your eyes hurt. Your head was pounding and your ears were filled with a constant high-pitched buzzing. Every part of your body was sore and some of it even stung. You moaned as you gripped your head and slowly sat up.

"Easy now..." A nurse said. She had pale skin, curly black hair, red symbol on her cheek, and odd purple eyes. On her head was a white nurse cap with the traditional red plus that was worn in a hospital. She smiled and handed you a glass of water.

"You're very lucky to be alive."

"How did I get here...?" You inquired, tongue feeling clumsy in your mouth.

"You were transported here after an odd rabbit-esque creature ran into that burning building and carried you out." She explained.

"Spring Trap....saved me? W-Where is he?!" You shot up. The nurse put her hands on your shoulders and slowly pushed you back down into your bed.

"Calm down, sweetie. He's okay. In fact, he's been pacing up and down the waiting hall since you got here."

It was true. Spring Trap had been pacing back and forth with no idea what else to do until he saw you. He sat down after a while and looked down. People flashed him confused, disgusted, and the occasional wonder struck glance on how he was even here.

"Disgusting. He's filthy."

"Who let him in this place?"

"Look at all that exposed metal? He could easily hurt someone!"

"Wonder what he's doing here...."

He paid them little mind, all of his being seemingly focused on you. His internal clock ticked on and on and created a sense of agony for the wait. So when did he stop being so focused on you? When a little girl came up to him. She wore a pink onesie and had a cute little winter cap on her head. Her eyes were a cold and steely blue and she had marks on her face and neck. She walked over against her mother's protest and looked up at Spring Trap, tugging on his fingers. His head snapped up and turned to face her.

"Are you a rabbit?" She asked. Spring Trap paused for a moment before leaning down and giving a small nod. The girl smiled widely.

"Bunny rabbit! What are you doing here?" She asked. Spring Trap couldn't talk, so he merely looked over to the door that lead to the emergency room.

"You're waiting for someone..." She made the connection quickly. Spring Trap looked back and nodded. Somehow, he felt that this was how he was supposed to act. Not as a scary mechanical prop in a dark building, but as a kind and loving friend to children. The connection was real and it was there.

"Is she okay?" The girl asked. Spring Trap lowered his head. She knew he was sad, maybe even scared. The girl knew the feeling very well. Thinking, she ran over to her mom, grabbing a pink backpack with some Disney Princesses on it. Reaching in, she pulled out a notebook and some crayons and ran back over, sitting next to him. Spring Trap figured he had nothing to lose and sat down next to the little girl, carefully crossing his legs and reding his hands in his lap.

"My name is... M-Molly." She pointed to her name scribbled in red crayon on her journal and opened it up.

"I am five years old, I like to play soccer, and I like to color. The reason I came to this hospital is because I was diagnosed to cancer when I was two years old. The doctors helped save my life and are helping me now so I can live." She smiled. Spring Trap tilted his head, processing the explanation of her life.

"Who're you?" She asked. Now Spring Trap wasn't exactly a programmed to interact so kindly with humans, but he would give it his best shot. Grabbing a blue crayon, he began to write on the next page.

'My name is Spring Trap. People found me in an old room in a family restaurant. They built me to be scary. I live in the spooky Fazbear's Fright attraction before it burned down tonight. I'm in the hospital because the girl who saved me from the fire is here and I want to make sure she's okay.' It was a bit difficult to write it all out, what with his huge hands and thick fingers, but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't proud of himself. The little girl read his relatively neat handwriting and stared up at him in awe.

"She saved you? No way! She must be a superhero!" Spring Trap would've grinned and blushed. (Y/n) was certainly no superhero, why you were just and ordinary teenager looking for a job that could pay decent cash. But to a little girl, you sounded like a superhero, and to Spring Trap, you are.

"You wanna play a game?" The little girl said. Spring Trap leaned a little closer.

"It's called Patty Cake!"

And for the half hour or so, Molly taught Spring Trap how to play Patty Cake and showed him her drawings. Spring Trap was captivated by the new learning experience. He was learning to interact with people and Molly was teaching him all about the world outside of the scary haunted house. Trees? So those giant wooden things outside had names? Grass. That little green pointy stuff? A rabbit. What he was based off of was a fast little creature with big back legs and long ears? It was all such an amazing experience.

"Molly?" A doctor called her name and her mother was quick to escort the little girl away from the animatronic.

Spring Trap watched her leave and thought to himself. 'Molly. Molly. Molly...'

"Um...S-Sir, if you'll come with me..." A nurse walked up to Spring Trap, gaining his attention. She flinched under his gaze and stepped back as he stood up. He was a good foot taller than her, an intimidating sight for anyone. She began walking with the anxious rabbit following close behind. People gasped and backed away at the site of him. Spring Trap screeched almost inaudibly and rolled his eyes. After he'd been hosed down with soap and water nearly four times and smelled thickly of sterile steel and dandelions now because of it, they still looked at him as filthy. One doctor even called in security, after which the nurse escorting him had to explain that he was a visitor. Then again, the fact that one would panic if they saw a large animatronic that was nearly torn to pieces wandering the halls of a hospital was understandable. After a good bout of walking and one elevator trip, the two stood before a hospital room door.

"H-Here we are..." The nurse opened the door and quickly zipped away.

Spring Trapped watched her let out a breath as she eagerly moved away from him. He would've blinked in response but merely turned his head towards the door, pushing it open. He peeked inside, as that had become such a habit for him, and looked around before slipping inside and shutting the door. This caught your attention.

You looked up, a wide smile creeping onto your face.

"Spring Trap!" His ear perked, the other one twitching, before his head turned to face you. He screech and quickly slunk over, standing beside you. You grinned up at him.

"Thank you for saving me..." You smiled. He nodded in response.

"Um, ma'am... Visiting hours..." A security guard walked in. At the sight of Spring Trap, he leered.

"I'll escort this... Thing... Out of here--"

You raised a hand to stop him. "No. He's fine. After everything he's done, that's no way to treat my hero." You smiled.

The guard nodded and walked out, reluctant to leave you alone with the animatronic. Spring Trap looked back at you, tilting his head.

"H...He...Ro?" His voice was raspy and cracked as he struggled to say the words. You were shocked and proud of him though.

"Of course. Saving someone from a burning building can be scary and only someone with the courage to overcome their fears could do that. So that makes you my hero." You smiled. Spring Trap's head snapped up and he pointed at you.

"...S...Su...Per... Hero...." He said. You giggled.

"Me? A super hero? No way... Who told you that?" You asked.

"M...Molly..." He replied.
