Description A bit of machine shop "propaganda", if you will...

This is a little something I threw together, using illustrations gleaned from an 1881 Car Builder's Cyclopedia and an 1895 Railway Locomotive Builder's Dictionary, demonstrating the different kinds of couplers that were in use at the time. I'm going to use this as a prop in a future video project that I'm working on.

I want to know more about knuckle couplers that were made to be backwards compatible with Link and pin couplers

They're really quite simple, actually. The knuckle was simply cast with a slot in the face, with a pin to go through and keep the link in place. It was often used on logging lines and interurbans, but I do know of a former military snowplow that had that kind of knuckle. Like all knuckle couplers the slotted knuckle could be removed and changed between cars with matching pin types.

I have a feeling posters like this would be posted up on the walls of my GFRR's shops.

Man, I'm loving the old vintage look and feel to this. Excellent Work!

Well thanks! Glad you liked it. I layered an image of a blank page from a 115-year-old book over the basic design to give it the texture. Worked nicely.

All of the posters will end up in my projects somehow too feel free to use them!
