Description More of an experimental piece than anything else.
Fear my bizarre anatomy and strange vanishing rock... as well as an excessively long tail that was definitely done on purpose... yes.

Awesome picture! The painterly style is really cool!! I especially like the sky.

IMO I really like the spots (their shape & distribution is perfect), though they might look a little better if not so blurred and without the glow effect... I can't really claim to have any experience in this area, though. I can tell you that she definitely looks like a snow leopard, though, so you did a very good job with that! This IS your first snow leopard, isn't it? Also, you've probably already noticed that the black spot on her mouth messes with her expression a bit, but learning is what experimentation is for!!

Also, big tails are great on snow leopards, since they're one of their most defining features (which IMO makes exaggeration in a cartoon character perfectly acceptable). I know they even like to carry them in their mouths sometimes!! (maybe it's to keep them from getting dirty dragging on the ground )

Really, though, this is a very, very nice picture overall!

Also.. there are rock brushes too?!? I must try them!!

Thanks so much.

The glow on the spots is deliberate. It was to give the whole image a more mystical feel.
No I've drawn several snow leopards before, just not on DA. It only looks a bit odd because I took the pose from a photo of a kitten and so the body is a lot shorter than it really should be and the head's a bit big.
Yes there are brushes for pretty much everything ever.

Thanks again!

Yay! I'll have to find me some of those everything ever brushes!

Oh, so the glow IS intentional - I thought you might've done it on accident when applying a filter (i.e. sharpen filter often leaves glowey edges). Still, just 'cause it's not my favorite style ever doesn't mean it's wrong! Maybe it even helps the spots stand out.. dunno how it would look without it.

And now I wanna see a snow leopard with glow-in-the-dark spots!! That would be awesome!

The lighting effects are gorgeous! Perhaps the paw in the back could need more shadow despite it's facing the light, cause it slightly gives the effect of being "photoshopped" on the top of the bg (I'm annoying I know <3 ); other than that - expression, fur, coloring, toning, anatomy, pancakes = A+

Haha yes I had plenty of trouble trying to make it as though it was actually standing with the picture and not on it. It's a lot better than it was at least, but very good point.

Hehe it took me years and years to develop to this stage and style... and I've still got a fair way to go. Personally I learn from looking at the animals themselves and then taking examples from the way many other people have stylised them.

That's why you keep the pictures next to you at all times and draw from reference.
