I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome by a doctor as a child.. It's sad how people say they have autism as a crutch..

This is why I refuse help during school. I can always do all the things that 'normal' people can do but the school recommended that I need help. I got average grades without even trying. I could have been in the top ten if I tried.

Yeah. I blame my own not wanting to go outside for my poor social skills, not the fact that I'm autistic.

If someone even does use their disability as an excuse, I just simply laugh at them. It's not like it's my responsibility to judge them or anything.

This is kind of the motto of my life. Never let your health get in the way of your dreams

I have BPD, Schizophrenia, mild dyslexia, ODD, countless phobias, and chronic depression. And yet somehow I'm more sane than my "Happy" freinds...

I have it, but I'm not gonna sit in the corner and go WAAAH. I have more important things to do in my life than sit around and mope.
I urge other people with it to do the same.

My disability is dwarfism. When I was growing up, people would often meet me and assume I was retarded. I'm short, I ain't deaf, I could see what they thought of me. I didn't make much of an effort to prove them wrong, I just let them see my academic or artistic ability on their own time. So I don't use it as a crutch, I rather like to make them look the fool for assuming things, haha.
If anything I will say my fingers are really short, and I can't work extensively or I might get carpal tunnel. But that's a serious possibility.
Basically, yeah, I hate the idea of using a disability as a crutch.

This reminds me of someone I used to know who would be total ass to everyone then if someone stood up to her she'd buthurt claiming she was/had: ADHD Aspergees (sp) and bipolar so no one had the right to get mad back
This stamp is awesome btw

Agree 100%
I have chronic depression, but I try very hard to not always make "BAAAWWWWW I'M SO SAD GIVE ME ASSPATS TO MAKE ME FEEL BETTER" posts/journals/etcetcetc and beg for attention. And seeing users going all "I'M DEPRESSED BECAUSE MY PARENTS WON'T LET ME DO _____ SO I'M GONNA GO KILL MYSELF" pisses me off more than anything.
Hell, my best friend is completely colorblind, photosensitive, and bipolar, and nothing in the world seems to get her down.

I agree. I happen to have dyslexia, but that doesn't mean I spell or speak like an idiot.. someone claiming that they can't type properly because they have dyslexia is utter nonsense. The backspace key, use it. I can understand minor typos, but horrible sentence structure and general poor language can't be brushed off to "Oh I'm dyslexic lolololol".

I am reminded of an old 'friend' of mine who, along with generally being full of shit, would use the wrong word for things all the time. If I jokingly called her out on it she'd get all teary-eyed and go 'stfu I'm dyslexic!', and I'm pretty sure she was serious, since she'd pull the same card all the time. That woman was the better part of 21 when I was, what, 13? I'm scared to see how she is five years from then.
