This is one of my biggest pet peeves on this website of all time.People, it's a critique function, not a glorified asspatting box. Giving everything five stars and suggesting to the artist that it's absolutely perfect and/or flawless is NOT A CRITIQUE, whether he's a remarkable digital painter or your generic talentless animu tard!! A critique is a constructive, insightful analysis of the thought and content of the work you're looking at. Saying "omg dis so original n amazing wowww

;;" is not thoughtful, constructive, helpful, or insightful. The artist doesn't learn anything or receive any kind of provoking feedback or perceptions, and neither do you.It's a wonder your lips aren't all chapped from having them smeared all over artists' buttocks so goddamn much.

On the other hand, a critique does not mean being a jackass and insulting the artist/everything about the piece. I've seen just as many people do as I've seen asskissers.

I don't think people on this site really know how to give a proper critique because the artists on here have skin the thinness of wet rice paper and flip out whenever they get anything less than lips to their puckered buttholes. The only time I've really seen insulting critiques is when the artist was trolled or "revenge critiquing" for flipping out in the first place. :S

true facts. it's especially bad when if you look at the picture there is clearly something wrong with it such as an obvious anatomy mistake. and yet it happens all the time.
even if the person you are critiquing is miles above your level there is no reason to think they are /perfect/.

Seriously! Before I made this stamp, I came across this picture some animu artist drew of some 2 minutes in MS Paint, no background, discombobulated child-man-midget thing, and someone had a critique giving it five stars saying there was nothing wrong and it was so innovative and creative.
I also think that people on this website are scared of giving critique. Especially since a lot of people here seem to have the skin the thickness of wet toilet paper and don't like getting anything that isn't less than DIS AWSOUM!!! It really is completely stagnating because no one learns anything, from even how to give a proper critique to how to improve on their art.
