Description This is a contribution to , a little project I started. To put it short, Toy Story 3 made me think back on my own favourite toys and now I wanna see everyone elses. More info there!

---

Here's my group of favourites, from left to right:

Pluto
This guy pretty much was my favourite plushie when I was a LITTLE little kid. Duh, he also was my favourite Disney character. I used to carry him around almost everywhere, until...

Bru
Now this guy, he definitely was my absolute top favourite toy. I always cuddled up with him in bed (he made for a great pillow!!), took him everywhere. Then I lost him. In a hotel, overseas. I was devastated. My mom called the hotel and sent them a fax, asking them whether they could look for him. After a long time, one day a package arrived, with my bear inside. I was so glad, hahaha actually I still remember a huge playtime where I had all the other toys celebrating his return. But, a bunch of years after that, I lost him again. This time, he didn't return, despite the same efforts. My aunt had the same plush toy and gave it to me. But it just wasn't the same - the paint on his eyes hadn't been chipped off, the fur wasn't as rough and dirty; this just wasn't the same bear I had been carrying with me for all of my childhood. In my playtime, he always was the wise leader of all my other toys. Everyone would always go to him for advice, haha.

Flik
For some reason, unlike his movie counterpart, this guy wasn't a klutzy inventor, he was a slightly smug athletic sorta guy when I played with him. Bru's right hand and pretty much always the #1 man for whatever job needed to be done. Part of the reason why he was one of my favourite toys to play with were his long and poseable limbs. I thiiiiink I got him in a Disneyland.

Rufus & Maunzel
These two were the resident couple. Rufus was more of a mild-mannered quiet guy, Maunzel was slightly bonkers and a total drama queen. They had two kids, Ruffy and Dalmatina. Dalmatina, as the name might suggest, was a dalmatian. Don't ask me how that was supposed to work. Ruffy looked a lot like Rufus, and I wouldn't be surprised if his head markings (dark ears and dark spot over his left eye) inspired my OC Shadow's look. I think Maunzel was one of the very first group of Beanie Babies.

Flaumi & Fuzzly
Flaumi, the little bear, was pretty much Flik's best friend and also always was up for any adventure. He was small, but made that his advantage. There were 3 other toys his size ([link] ), and together they made up the "Highflyers". They flew around on other flying toys (like Fuzzly here), but also had their own KICKASS SPACESHIP (which in reality was an ice cream box with flames drawn on it's side and four holes cut into the lid to seat the plushies in it, hah).
In playtime, unlike the other toys, Fuzzly didn't speak and was more of an "animal". Nevertheless, he always was eager to help in adventures. He actually originally was one of those crazy toys that were attached to the moving balls? Something like this ?

LEGO Technic Dude
LEGO, what kid didn't love to play with that stuff? I wasn't that big of a fan of the LEGO Technic series, but this little guy was incorporated into the plushie playtime more than the other LEGO toys. I also had some crazy robot I had made out of a few Bionicle and LEGO Technic sets, but even if I'd know where to find it or photos of it, I wouldn't have been as insane as to attempt to paint the crazy thing, haha.

Here's a photo of the crew, Bru obviously replaced by my aunt's toy: [link]

---

Because I already went through the effort of digging up those toys and taking shots of a few, here's a photo of some adorable ones my mom knitted for me: [link]
And one more toy that I think deserves mention simply due to the absurdity of it: [link] Yes, some weird Santa. With a mouse's tail tied to his hat. The mouse would always rotate around like a helicopter and together the two would fly around.

---

Art-related chatter: Overall, I'm really happy with this painting, I definitely managed to get a step closer to the style of painting I want to have - blocky and not as detailed, but still lively and vivid. I also didn't spend AGES on it, like with my last painting.
UNFORTUNATELY, I messed up and overwrote the PSD with all the layers flattened and the image size decreased to 33% of the original. Yaaaay.

Anyway, I hope you liked this and I hope even more that some of you will contribute to the group!

Bru's story made me sad I've been through that. My bro and I lost our two most favorite toys when I was like 8. It was a snowy day, and we left them in the park
Luckily other toys came... Oh the luv. I miss playing with them, I really do.

you forgot fliks lipstick dawg. Also I can't believe your toys had a society. A constant society, I may not have had alot of toys or been that into toys but every time I played with them the toys were different things.

Lipstick? lol, now that you mention it, in the photos angle it looks a lot like lipstick.

And naw, for me the character always more or less stayed the same. Hell, my friends and I even sometimes took my camcorder and made little movies with these guys, and I also drew a bunch of them. I should scan those drawings, it would be fun as a comparison, haha.
