Description Before I start off:

Special thanks to ~Chronicle-l for showing me this (rather, back in the summer when we both had nothing else to do or work with on photoshop).
__

So as mentioned in the tutorial: If you don't know how to use the pen-tool, refer to this: Cell-Shading Tutorial
And its essentially also the pen tool tutorial, since you are using that tool a lot.

Now I was going to make this anyway. I decided to do it today, since I was working on this anyway.

And I'm hoping this helps you out a bit. If not, ask away. I'll try to answer your questions as best I can.

Right now, I need to take a break. And eat..before my food gets cold.

that's really cool. although i think you should've stated that after using the pen tool to select the areas you want masked you should turn the paths into selections. took me awhile to figure that out. thanks. it was really easy to understand.

Thats also one way.
I actually get the path out first, and then just go straight to doing a fill.

hmmm?? get the path out first?? so how do you do a fill then?? wouldn't you need the path to be selected first?? sorry, i'm just a bit confused.

Well, I use the pen tool first. After closing the path (or at least covering the section I need), its just right-click and fill.

Although people have come across some issue that for every anchor point set, a random black fill comes in.
Theres supposed to be a button to turn that off, making it easier to do strokes/ fills.

Quick on your tutorials as usual~

XDDD what I use to do for these things is put the texture on multiply, and erase all the extra texture I didn't want. XD;

I think this one took like 20 minutes..

lol. Of course if it works, then I can't complain. I used to have it on multiply and delete it all very slowly via. poly-lasso tool D:

Yes, that is how I do things.

Its what my friend calls "unworkable" layers. But he does like..quite a lot of masking, grouping, etc. I get lost in his. He gets lost in my simplistic ones D:

His .psds are just mindblowing @__@

XDDD My .psd are so simple, I have only like...5 layers.

Mine used to be like..really 2/ 3 layers.

Sketch/ Line Art
Flats
Tones

But for this piece I'm working on (slacking off really), I think its reaching 20.
Too bad its all essentially multiply, overlays and layer-masking -__-;;

The most I ever used was like 20.

an i was like, "HOW DID I GET THIS MUCH!?"

everything for me is multiply.

Yeah..my layers are basically that. and on various opac. levels.

Although I tell people its best not to look at my PSDs >.>
