I don't know, why. Perhaps, he just found out that Maedhros was captured and his relatives told him to cut his hair as a sign of mourning because they did not hope to retrieve him. But he is resolved to find his friend again
Такой Фингон с короткими волосами. Не знаю почему, но, может быть, когда он нашёл братьев Маэдроса, то они ему сказали, что он потерян для них окончательно, и семья постригла волосы в знак траура по нему (и Феанору). Но Фингон всё равно решил вернуть его.
