Description For those folks who have been around me for a while... you might know that my grandfather has been ill.
I am sorry to announce that he has passed away in the late evening hours of November 30th and his funeral was held on December 8th.
I am even sorrier to say that I was unable to attend either event, by virtue of being quite far away and held up by bad weather. Sometimes the Canadian winter can really be a hindrance to some of the important things in life.

I have some very mixed memories of my grandfather - the family dynamic has never been truly what one would call healthy by any means. But there were good days mixed in with the bad. There were fond memories that break apart the long span of misery and depression that marked the last 20 years of his life. He has taught me many things, whether he realises it or not. He has taught me that we create our own demons and lock ourselves in our own personal Hell. He taught me that the fear of change is our biggest enemy. But one of the most important things he has taught me is to treasure what we have in our hands right now, instead of chasing after something that could have been better and bending backwards for it. It's never OK to hurt and ignore the people who care about you.

You might have heard that I like fish... and yes, I love fish, for all the myriad lore and legend that surround our scaled friends.
So this one is for my grandfather - the older generation leading the younger one, into an ever-evolving circle of life.
Here's to hoping that he has finally found that peace and feeling of comfort that has eluded him for most of his long life.

Requiescat in pace.

Very impressive cutting all the little details and keeping each fish looking exactly the same as each other. Great job

Oh my friend, I'm very sorry for your loss, my condolences for you and your family. I had been very worried and occupied due to the health problems of my family, that is why I am hearing of your grandfather's death so far.
It's difficult the loss of a loved one, but it's better to think that now they are much better in the other life.

This is a great detail on your part for your grandfather

Thank you so very much for your very kind words. I really appreciate it.
I hope that your family members will have their health improved soon. And hopefully you will not have to worry about them in the future.

And you are very right. Now I won't have to worry about the health of my grandfather anymore. I don't have to hear about how he is sick again or how he is going to the hospital again. Sometimes, it's nice to have an end to human suffering. And I hope he is really in a better place now. He has suffered enough already.

Thank you once again for your support and your warm words. I really appreciate them!

Well the diseases of my relatives is an issue that I wouldn't like to speak publicly , I can only say that it's a sensitive issue .

Maybe he had suffered too much in his last days, but he also had a very good life don't forget that you are also part of his legacy .

Yes, indeed. Not everybody wants to talk about the illnesses of others, even if they are family. I feel more comfortable talking about my grandfather's diseases partially because he has some really common diseases that usually visits older people, but also because he has already passed away. Talking about things makes me feel a little better, I think.

But you are right. He has left a wonderful legacy. Three doctors, 1 architect, 1 teacher-to-be and some very successful businessmen... you might say he has given this world a few useful people. That's a legacy, right?

Can't think of any, my friend.
And perhaps... that's the best way.

It's OK. Don't worry about words.
I hold on to the fact that he has live a long and full life. And since he was in a lot of pain and misery in the past several years, I am glad that he is in a better place now. Somebody else will look after him and make sure he is happy and safe.

Thank you very much for your very kind words! I really appreciate your support!

It's alright, ma chère... he is in a better place now.
The last few years of his life was troubled and painful. Now that he is finally gone, I like to think he has gone on to have someone else to look after him. And hopefully he will finally find peace and feel loved. And perhaps all of us will be able to find the time and peace-of-mind to heal. What more can one ask?

Thank you so very much for your kindness and your warm words. I really appreciate your support!
