btw, was not done by Ghibli, The studio was Nippon animation for the World Masterpiece Theater segment. Yoshifumi Kondo from Ghibli done the character design

In my canon, Anthony is Mr.Bhear but in the anime Jo met him before she went to New York, he kinda has the same personality and he does look a lot like her husband in the sequel.

Your right. Now that I think about it. Anthony was needed to be Bhear in the Anime because the anime only covered the first part of the novel. So if it would of continued I think she would of met up with him in NY..and I know he really wanted her. He was so cute with the way he showed how he wanted her too. Did u write a fic for them?

No, I didn't. But watching the anime now with my niece made me fall in love with him and opened my eyes to the similarities between Anthony and Bhear: both criticize Jo's work because it's too imaginative and not about something real, both are quite older than Jo, Jos cares so much about their opinion, and then there is that scene in the anime when Anthony brings over the newspaper with Jo's story in it and then walks away, it's very similar to the 1994 movie when Bhear brings over the book and walks away, Jo had to run after them with happiness.
Also, the hair color between Anthony and Bhear in very similar - the sequel Jo and Nan.
