Yup, turns out the skinny kid with the intergender first name was a chick pretending to be a guy the whole time
Yoshimi was never really one to dress feminine anyway and looking slightly boyish would sorta help confuse people as to her real gender, which doesn't help if those who DO know and like to tease the oblivious keep swapping out which gender nouns they use when addressing her... the eyelashes being visible under her fringe should've been a hint, though
The fact the skirts for the girls are so short would definitely put off someone wearing them, but if she's not wanting to get in trouble, Yoshi-chan has gone with the next best thing to try and stop boys from sneaking a peek: tights! That'll show 'em!
Alright, enough of me being a smartarse about it: Yoshimi actually did get confused with being a boy a lot as a kid and with her preference of wearing clothes that covered her up more, she eventually just didn't care to correct them anymore; if they called her a boy, she just let them, at least SHE knew she was a girl
So, since she's old enough to actually behave sensibly and not childishly argue about it, she's decided to give the girls' uniform a try... she's not too happy about it, but it's a start
Hoo boy, took me far too many tries to get this one right, first the hair caused me trouble and then the pose; but hey, it's done now, so I guess I can't complain
Didn't help that I couldn't find any references to the Miami Second Middle School girls' uniforms other than the skirt and jacket other than THIS , so I kinda went with what Yuzu wears to make up for it... close enough if you ask me, though

I like the jacket design and androgenous girls, I think the personality you wrote up is very interesting.
A lot of pretty boys in manga have been drawn with eyelashes so think and lips so glistening that it gets harder to differentiate genders. I'd be interested in drawing her if you're interested in commissions, no pressure though.

The majority of characters tend to be distinctly either male or female, including my own, so making one that's ambiguous (through design or clothing choices) is something I wanted to try
I've been wanting to Comm someone for a while now, but I've not been able to make the decision on what I'd like them to try or whether I'd be pestering them too much if ask for too many from them
I'll keep you in mind if I make the choice to go for it, I'm always wondering what my characters would look like drawn by someone... well, better than me

I've always found humour in the opposite, where girls turn out to be very convincing guys; that's why my Gothorita in Pokemon is always going to be a boy, despite the feminine design

50/50 chance, along with Ralts and its evolutions (well, Gallade can only be male, but Gardevoire can be either male or female)
Coincidentally, Fennekin have only a 12.5% chance of being female, yet its evolutions, Braixen and Delphox , appear somewhat feminine if you think about it

Ralts is a funny one, very pretty but reminds me of a guy in a skirt. It's no surprise it has very feminine/masculine evolutions. Fennekin is so cute, I love fennec foxes. Delphox reminds me of your local village mystic.

Not easy to get her right, but she is fun to draw
Well, my attempts at drawing tidy hair make characters look as though they've got plastic on their heads, so I tend to go with something sorta messy instead

Truth be told, I knew there was something just a tad fishy going on with those eyelashes, though I assumed it was due to the design of the show. And from what I recall, some of the male characters did appear quite feminine. Then again, this can apply to almost any anime ever, but I digress.
Not a bad pic! The subtlety of the pose is nice, I think you managed to pull it off well. The coloring looks good, though some parts might blend in a little too much, such as the skirt, and may have benefited from more darker, pronounced lines.

Anime, the world where girls look like girls and guys also look like girls
Some of the male Yugioh characters have eye-markings, but with the way I draw, it just helps having noticeable eyelashes to distinguish between male and female somewhat
If anything, I'm glad I got it done, just to keep something new on here and not let it all fizzle out; I should get on with far more, but Arc-V seems to be my rut as of late and extended work hours leading up to Christmas isn't exactly helping
I do see that more when it's pointed out, makes me want to go over them now to do those changes
I shall take that compliment for everything it is worth, old chum
