Description "Say hello to my little friends", said Ultra Astro Master Uber General Hyper Badass (etc, etc) Sergeant Bobby "Boulder" Ballman, and in commanding manner urged you to DOWNLOAD THE IMAGE.

(Really! It is EXTREMELY detailed. The Damn DeviantArt refuses to display it 100 % size if your monitor's resolution is too small! I find this lovely feature extremely delightful.)

Anyway... This was my own futile charge against the Fantasy Sci-Fi Fusion Contest.

100 % mouse, no layers, no actual reference. That's my way.

(Edit: fixed few things.)

65 and he lost count. I'm surprised he made it that far.... when did he find the time to scratch it in? Or are those battles?
Also, his Godly Plate Armor is a +5 magical set and summons 1d6 faeries on daily uses with random abilities, spells, and usefulness. Also, it comes with the Helmet of B.A. which allows the user to zoom vision and breathe in a vacuum or underwater. It also comes with a "Belt of Giants Strength" with aditional flaires that go up the spine and spread out along the ribs, acting as a lesser exoskeleton.
His gun, meanwhile, is a standard rifle with no bonuses. It is not even masterwork.

That text in the staff of the fairy sorceress is Tolkien's Cirth and reads: "GRB IS GOD"

Also, there are few hidden messages that are not plainly written. I'm unsure if the judges of the contest noticed them.

Usually I'm totally dissatisfied with my art, but in this case the feeling is even worse! Maybe it is because I created this for a contest... Anyway, I now have about a million ideas how to improve the picture. But oh woe, the contest is closed!

The first scenario that people imagine when they hear "fantasy vs sci-fi" is to set a battlefield between scifi-marines and elves. Why can't these f'n creatures just get f'n along!?

Science fiction and fantasy have been merged and mixed and shaked and stirred so many times in the past that the only sensible approach has to be humorous. But alas, satire does not win a serious contest.

nobody said it would make you a better artist. Some tools are better than others though. I *could* draw in paint, but i prefer photoshop because it offers me much more features and control. I *could* draw with a mouse, (and I used to), but I prefer a tablet because it offers me more features and control. Seriously, once you draw with a wacom you wont want to go back
Still, its your art, and you use whatever suits you
