Description Even though she'd lash out, I couldn't hate Isabelle, it wouldn't be fair, she'd lost everything after all... At the end of the day I could sense her grief, even though our cabins were apart I could feel it as if I were in her head, I know she kept recordings of all her little sister's messages, I think she'd listen to them every night, and cry herself to sleep... She was once such a strong, optimistic person... Honestly, the woman I knew died with Alderaan... Quinn Shara's memoirs, Rebel Alliance years, remembering her former commander, Isabelle.
-------

More Star Wars OC AU feels, Merry Christmas... ;_;

Eheh, not too much to say about this, just Isabelle, consumed by grief...

She's got several holo-recordings of her little sister Maya, they contain many precious moments shared between the two, and are unfortunately all Isabelle has left of Maya, who perished when the Death Star destroyed Alderaan... These memories however only deepen her grief, she listens to them every night, wishing things could be different, overwhelmed by both her sorrow, and her hatred of the Empire.
Among her things are also a Rebellion propoganda holo-poster, it reads "Remember Alderaan" (If my Aurebesh is correct anyhow... ), and some charred rock, fragments of Alderaan itself.

I wouldn't mind exploring Isabelle's character prior to Alderaan's destruction, because she was a totally different character before then, it'd certainly be interesting, she was a stern commander, but she was always fair, and positive...

Anyhow, yeah, working on the conclusion of this story ark, but that doesn't mean I won't revisit it with more art in the future, much like the Star Wars movies, I don't exactly do things in any particular order... XD

But yeah, hope ya'll like, feedback appreciated too.

Did I say you could give me all of these emotions? I didn't sign up for this! T.T

But for serious...
This...
Just... this...
It's gorgeous and heartbreaking, and...
Ugh. The emotions in this just ring out so clearly, the detail is incredible...

Oh it gets worse, not gonna lie, it gets worse.

Thank you, I really appreciate it. ;w;
Out of all my OCs Isabelle here probably hates me the most, as she's lost everything... ;_;

Oh, it always does, but I'm still not happy T.T

Always welcome, it well deserved it.
Ah, the life of an author, all of our OCs hate us for one reason or another.
Poor thing, send her someone to give her hugs!

This is both beautiful and tragic, the little details of all her sister's recordings against the wall and all the other little items lying about the place add a potency to the imagery.

Agh, thank you, this picture makes me feel so sad... I'm really glad you like it, I wanted to show that, despite her faults, despite her lashing out, she's not a bad person, she's just... Broken. She's desperately trying to put the pieces back together, collecting everything she can to keep the memories of Alderaan alive, not seeing that ultimately she's just hurting herself even more, too much has been lost, and she'll never be able to put the pieces back together... it's only in the few months prior to the Battle of Hoth that she starts to realize that she's got to let it go, rather than cobble together a patchwork life from the pieces left behind, she's got to move on, and forge a new life... It's such a shame...

In the words of Palpatine: Only now, at the end, do you understand.
;_;

I think Quinn really understands how Isabelle feels, having been born during the purge, and having lost both parents by age five, and also looking after Orchid, she knows that if anything happened to Orchid she'd probably be broken too... And I think that's why she endures Isabelle's outbursts, even choosing not to retaliate when Isabelle assaults her that time... I actually think it'd be an interesting conversation for Jaeriel and Quinn to have, where Jaeriel asks Quinn why she tolerates it, and Quinn tells Jaeriel about how they were once friends, and about Maya, and Alderaan, and also her own past, losing her parents, and how she can relate... I think that'd be a great, meaningful moment between Quinn and Jaeriel.

Yeah, I really do sympathize with her for that loss and all it causes for Isabelle and those around her...but yeah, laeve it to Palps to have the right quote for a tragedy!

I think that Quinn isboth strong and weak for toleratnig Isabelle's outbursts honestly, I mean we see how Jaeriel deals with it, but she's got her mother and her father in her and neither of them tolerate that sort of thing from anyone!But I think I'll incorporate what you told me here into their story later on, see how that goes.

I'm really glad, because one of my worries with her character was her coming of as too abrasive, like, when she lashed out and hit Quinn, that's an extreme example of her breaking due to the building emotional pressure, and it only ever happens that one time, and that incident she instantly knows that she's in the wrong, and starts to rethink things, in a way it may well be the catalyst that leads to her sacrifice herself to save Quinn at Hoth... But yeah, I really want for her to be somewhat sympathetic, like some of her actions and decisions may well be in the wrong, but she's not doing it because she's a bad person, she's making these mistakes because she's heartbroken, she's not normally aggressive, she's authoritative, and short tempered after Alderaan, but she's not really physically aggressive, though she is prone to strong outbursts when under extreme pressure...

True, it's a really tough position for Quinn, because she was good friends with Isabelle, and as much as she tries to contest Isabelle's decisions when she's in the wrong, it hurts to do so because their relationship suffers, having lost almost everything Quinn doesn't want to isolate Isabelle even more... Heheh, aye Jaeriel don't take shit from anyone! XD I think it'd be an interesting conversation for Jaeriel and Quinn to have, like Jaeriel asks Quinn how she can follow someone like Isabelle since Jaeriel only knows Isabelle post-Yavin, Quinn would tell her about her friendship and leadership before Alderaan, and of the devastating loss Isabelle suffered, as well as Orchid losing Maya, the only friend she had of similar age and how that had a massive effect on the poor girl, and also talk about her own feelings over the fracturing relationship, I imagine it'd be one of those times where Quinn gets emotional, maybe the first time Jaeriel see's Quinn get emotional, . ;w; Ah, interesting!

I think you managed to convey that she's not evil or malevolent in nature, she's just putting all this pressure and stress and bearing it alone for so long that she eventually snaps and lashes out at those around her. The case with Quinn is certainly an extreme as is the time with Jaeriel when she tries to have her arrested upon first meeting her.

I can certainly see Quinn and Jaeriel having that conversation. Unfortunately I don't think that Jaeriel at that stage in her life would have much tolerance for Isabelle let alone sympathy no matter how close she and Quinn might have been at one point. To her Isabelle is just a mad dog. She'd certainly feel sorry about Maya's death, and that would not doubt lead her closer to Orchid, but for Isabelle I think she'd expect a leader to do better after the example she has from her own family.
