looking up the Nave to the Sanctuary and Altar of Catedral Primada de Americathe oldest existing cathedral in the Americas, also known as Catedral de Santa Maria le Menor was built in phases between 1513 and 1544, it's design composing both Gothc and Renaissance elements. Tor hundreds of years the remains of Christopher Columbus and his son, Diego, were buried near the main altar until being moved to Faro de Colon.

I tend to dislike churches/cathedrals in general but this is a really nice picture. It's interesting how most of the churches in other places will let you take pictures of them inside, that wouldn't be the case in Brazil (and I don't quite know the exact reason for that).

Nor do I. So many cathedrals and churches have magnificent art and wish to share it.
