My brother and I don't argue too much, but when we do, it's usually about which is the better class: Mage or Warrior? This is exactly, 100% how our initial argument went. We're a bit like a gender-reversed Morrigan and Alistair.So, FINE, Arcane/Blood Mages can have cool armor and weapons and make people explode, but Templar Warriors get to run into battle like idiots and hack everything to little bits (and run head first into traps and blow up their party). I'm incapable of doing otherwise. And they can dispel magic... huh, I forgot about that... *facepalm*
Oh, and in the first panel my bro is "hypothetically" sporting the Pink Mage Party Hat, which is +5 all stats but might get you beat up.

Mages can dispel magic as well, its in the Spirit school of magic.

Lets face it, Templars are just plain obsolete with an Arcane Warrior in your party; they can do almost the same stuff as a Templar AND MORE with enough Mana or health (if you happen to be a blood mage...which I am)

I like mages, my main warden in DA1 was one, and my first playthough was a mage (second is not completed but is a rogue archer and they kick so much ass), only played the opening as a warrior and they not as impressive as the other 2

The one downside of being an arcane warrior is that you no longer want to use your staff anymore, because you get to equip greatswords and such.

I tried warrior first, but got sick of being constantly mobbed very quickly. Then I got a mage, made him an Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer (gotta keep those other guys alive somehow) and never looked back.

Yeah, my brother and I are always completely opposite in our class choices (can't get much more different than a Blood Mage and a Templar Warrior). But, we're also very similar, which is why we both have the same amount of intense loyalty to our classes, I suppose.

That's true; you may be opposites class-wise, but you're more alike than you know - that's what makes these kinds of games so much fun. Especially when you play it with a sibling.

My first warden was a rouge, because any chance I get I am a thief/assassin in every game I play LMAO. I made a warrior and got annoyed with having to heal constantly even though I could do extreme damage. Then I finally made a mage and HATED her because she would die constantly, then she got to become an Arcane warrior and wear awesome armor and wield a battle axe bigger than herself, and I was happy~!
P.S. That was somehow related to this comic, which is AWESOME, but I lost my train of thought. D;

I think your point was being an Arcane warrior is cool. When I get around to having a Warden be a mage, I'm going Arcane with awesome armor as soon as possible.

I played it at my cousin's awhile back, it was really fun but he was more than halfway through so I had no idea what I was supposed to do. Though I remember the acrobatics being beyond awesome. :3
I found it hilarious that my mage could wield a battle axe at a lower level than my warrior, tiny female elf mage is stronger than noble male human. XD

Both are needed to have a good team. No warriors and the mages will get eaten. No mages and no ranged attacks, healing, or support.

I'm with you--I love to charge in head-first and take on whatever the biggest and baddest enemy is on the field. Although, yes, this does often end up with me getting blown up by traps or fire-ball slinging mages.

I always go straight for the troll if one shows up (yelling, "The troll's mine!" as though they can hear me). It cheeses me if I don't get the cool finishing move.
