what is a Kelpie?
π: 0 β©: 1
nightworld01 In reply to CJSelgas0731 [2012-09-05 04:42:33 +0000 UTC]
A kelpie is a type of merfolk that takes the form of a black horse. It mostly prays on children by allowing them to ride it's back. Once the child is really relaxed, its coat becomes a glue like substance to keep the child on its back; making it simple for the kelpie to go into a river, drown the child and eat its flesh.

can't the kelpie also pray on women by the taking the form of a handsome young man?

Actually the kelpie can take the form of a woman to lure men into a trap.

Yeah, I can see some of the anatomy errors too, but I think it's completely overshadowed by the body language- I can practically hear the seriously ticked kelpie bray at the pegasus!

YIKES!! That Pegasus better take off fast, before the kelpie gets him, like a crocodile preying on a swan!!
Why would a kelpie attack a pegasus though?! They're both horses of legend, and they inspire people!

i am curious what you make/made of the later version. the concept is very good. i like the angst of the pegasus and how fierce the kelpie is looking. a good vs eviil thing.
i like this piece, good use of colours and i an curious how you have grown since 2006, so now i am going to see through your gallery ^_^

I love the shading, and you've got the 'wet look' really nicely. I also envy your water splashes, lols, they look really realistic.

XD It's as if the pegasus is yelling "Holy s--t, man, I didn't mean to land on your head!" (cackles) The kelpie almost looks offended, as if it's yelling "I KEEL YOO!"
There's a lot of dynamic motion here; I didn't know watercolors (or at least a medium that looks like watercolors) could do that. Nice. ^n_n^
