on Christmas Eve...

So, this is my last entry for the 's Christmas contest! It is loosely based off of a story that I scrapped, since I couldn't finish it. This is Pre-Movie, since he's all alone.

If you think about it, all of those days, Megamind only had Minion by his side, including Christmas. No one deserves to be alone on Christmas...

I walked out of the Evil Lair with my eyes clouding up from the cold and tears. This happens every year; I cry like a young infant because this day is when it dawns on me that I've always been alone and it's never going to change. I mean, who's ALONE on Christmas Eve? Everyone that matters is with the people they love on this 'joyous day.' So, why can't I be with the person I love? Oh yeah, because she is in love with the city's Hero and she would NEVER be with me, that's why!

I look down at my feet to see the white snow crush under my feet one evil step at a time. It made me feel...powerful. Just knowing that I have given imperfections to something so perfect makes me smile to myself. 'One day Megamind, this snow will be replaced with Metro Man's face... Just you wait.' I thought with an evil smirk appearing on my face. I twisted my bag in my hands but stopped when my mind started to wander back to the ideas of being alone. I felt the tears that had formed finally fall down my cheeks and watched them hit the snow.

With wondrous eyes, I looked at my surroundings. No one has come here, since there are no footprints in the moon-lit snow. There were dozens of pines that stood tall and proud. I started to picture when I defeat Metro Man; the city screaming in terror, the stores all robbed, Roxanne as my evil queen... Oh, I just couldn't wait 'til that day! The day Metro Man is out of the picture, is the day my life will BEGIN!

I sat myself down on a snow-covered hill and felt the chill of the snow immediately. I pressed the "M" brooch on my collar to turn my suit to 'thermal.' What? An evil genius such as I needs to keep warm! When the suit warmed up, I looked at the stars and I frowned more at the moon. I had to admit that the moon looked beautiful tonight. I remember when I was young I use to think that the moon was small enough that I could just take it with me to sleep, to guard me from my nightmares at night. I thought that since the moon was so bright, it would outshine all of the darkness in my great mind, giving me a nightmare-free sleep. I figured out quickly that that is not the case. I still had dreams about those children that picked on me. They will forever haunt my memory like a ghost, who can't let go of the past.

I grabbed my bag and let out a sigh. I can't believe that I still have this stuff! What a complete fool I am. I knew that they would never come and get this stuff... yet I could never bring myself to get rid of this bag. I turned away from the moon and opened the bag. I took out two items; a picture that I drew of my family and I when I was five years old, and a parcel. This parcel was wrapped in newspaper that is now covered with tape, since the wrapping kept tearing. The parcel was then wrapped with a faded green bow that was a wondrous dark-green when I first wrapped the parcel long ago. I placed both things on the ground. As soon as the parcel touched the ground, the tears started to fall.

I could feel my stomach tighten in a knot as started to gasp for air. All I could think about was that I had no family, no friends other than my fish, and of course... no one to love. This made more tears fall and my gasps more noticeable. Of course, I never would have heard the curious reporter sneak behind a tree and gawk at me. I stopped to look down at my two precious items and the tears started to slow down. I got up, wiped my eyes and cleared my throat.

"Oh God, why did you have to be so cruel? You took my family away from me, stole my innocence... and now you make me spend every single day of my life alone!" I kicked the snow violently, shaking my fists at the clouds.

"The worst thing out of all of that, is you make me fall in love with a woman that would never love me back. HOW DARE YOU!?" I sat back down, loosely hugging my knees to my chest. I once again let tears sneak out of my eyes.

"...How dare you...?"

It was then that I felt a tap on my shoulder. I was about to pull out my gun, when I felt someone hugging me. I rather roughly turned around to see Ms. Ritchi looking me in the eyes. She hugged me again and placed a kiss on my cheek. Oh God, how amazing it was. I looked up at her with her gorgeous blue eyes to see her giving me an amazing smile. She goes in her purse and grabs out a black and blue hand-knit scarf, with my symbol on it.

"No one should be alone on Christmas Eve..."

So there you go!
