| My Facebook | My Tumblr | My Twitter | My Wysp |I was told back in December that I haven't lived life until I have watched Howls Moving Castle and Arietty by my co worker. I had put off watching it for years, and I finally did and I fell in love with Howls Moving Castle, especially the opening scene. Ugh... So perfect. I'm a sucker for waltz's. I wanted to draw it like he was offering his hand to dance or something haha. I don't really know.Β
When I first started this piece I had really simple plans for it to just be Howl against a blue sky with some clouds. simple right?
Yeah well after playing Bravely Second I wanted to draw some scenery, but Im not good at that so it just became a bunch of distant buildings haha. And than I wanted to do something with lighting, and make it look a little more interesting.Β
I found this to be really fun to paint since a lot of it was just clothing folds and playing with colours.

Really beautiful ^-^ I really love how you painted him, so amazing! I enjoyed the movie even though I didn't really understand what it was about. It was weird having a main character named Sophie, since it's my name

I liked Howls Moving Castle since im a sucker for Waltz and I really loved how it looked and the characters.
I also love Arriety! The soundtrack is amazing and I love how it was animated.

I spend like 10 ish hours blending Β and trying to make my fabric as detailed as possible xDΒ
Fabric and colours is why everything takes me an eternity to finish XDΒ

Oh my god.... I probably spend 50% of the time drawing/making line-art/sketches, and the other 50% on coloring/blending.

Mines like... and hour for a sketch and 1 - 5 hours for lineart. Than maybe like 5 - 10 hours of blending and colours? Im going to do a speedpaint of the next piece I complete so I will be able to get back to you if those times are correct.Β

Its a really charming movie. I think you should definitely watch it if it seems interesting to you. I find the middle kind of slogs on a bit and kind of is uninteresting, but I really liked it.Β
