If every Pokémon (though it's debateable with some!) didn't the game'd be boring. I've had Mantine's Mirror Coat KO Mega Gengars and Weezings with Will O'Wisp cripple and wear down Mega Kangaskhan... I always hate the whole 'let's ban X, Y, or Z from the metagame' - thinking of counters for popular mons is part of the fun

yeah, I do get the argument(s), I personally loathe Mega-Zard Y (the one with Drought!), but I like to keep the playing field open and see if I can utilise underused 'mons to beat the standards (or a mix of standards and underused). Currently testing out a team of some of my favourites, consisting of Huntail, Sunflora, Stantler (might replace him for Escavalier), Eelektross, Swoobat (luff) and Camerupt. Doing surprisingly well bar Stantler, and my Shell Smash Huntail seems to be kind of touch and go too (damn its low HP!).

I don't use either, but I find the X forme far easier to counter than the Y forme... drought + solar beam = sad face for me!

Yeah mate, personally I find the Y form easier to deal with due to the 4x effectiveness of rocks
While yes, 1 turn solar beams are pretty hard to play around, I find a protect trapper does wonders if you aren't wearing them down with roar/dragon tail
