Description My version of the japanese Futakuchi-Onna, we had to do a creepy sort of mythic creature for a coloring book project in my fundamentals of design class.

Don't worry, we won't actually be giving these to children. So I'm not harming any younglings' psyche. ha ha

for those of you who do not know, a Futakuchi-Onna is a mythic demon wife. Back in the day the men used to prize women who ate sparingly. And eventually suspicion would arise as to how these women actually got sustenance. The myth goes that the woman secretly had a very hungry and very demonic second mouth in the back of her head, hidden by hair. and when she got too hungry the mouth would screech loudly and take matters into it's own hands... (or snake like tendrils of hair). The hair would snake around the woman's head, on it's own and help itself to her meals, feeding the mouth in the back of her head.

Isn't that so cool! ahahaha

"Back in the day the men used to prize women who ate sparingly." Uhm, don't they still do that today? .__. *smacks stupid pencil-thin models with a pokey stick*

ANYWAY, this is really cool, awesome, and incredibly creepy all at once. Japanese mythology has some pretty outrageously wicked demons (which is why it's so amazing). The dynamic locks of hair are my favorite part.

Hahaha NO TSS! of course Men don't like skinny women today, what alternate world are you living in?

(fffine, you win, logic is my downfall)

And yeah! I was going through this really long wiki-list on mythic creatures, and I saw this one and I knew I had to draw it. It was so creepy perfect. I love it when things can be beautiful and also a little scary at the same time. And I'm glad you liked the hair, it took forever for me to get it right. I was really afraid to mess that up because it was basically 75% of the image.

The designs on her collar are pretty much one of my favorite things. I wish I could have been a liiiittle more creative with the rest of the kimono but I'm ok with how it turned out.
