Ah, it seems like she started dabbling in dark magic when she was very young.

Seems the only way to make the toxin was to go straight to the source. Sadly for the grave keeper, the rite needed just a little more than a few incantations.
I have a theory that Cadance here would lose her sanity if she had to fight someone who is obviously more powerful than herself; favoring deception and a silver tongue over direct combat...basically an inferior Chrysalis.

- Why did she kill this stallion?
- She looks younger, so it happened long ago in the past; why did she kill somepony back then?
- Has she already planned to seize rulership over Equestria back then or was her reason for killing him a different one?
- What does this mysterious book have to do with it?
Also, I just saw that one of the tags says "necromancy". So, she killed this stallion to try to bring him back to life again with necromancy? For learning purposes?
If so, has she also killed Celestia and Luna and then brought them back to life? That wouldn't make much sense for her to do, because they would become a threat for her once being alive again, except..... she can control those she brought back to life..... Does this mean we will see Celestia and Luna as undeads, controlled by her and abused as her secret weapon in case something goes wrong?
Let the speculation arise!
This series is really a lot more epic than I expected it to be and it gets more epic all the time!

They certainly look similar, though, I wouldn't count on it that it's him just because of that. Some ponies look similar. It can happen.

Slitherpon the title and your statement implies cadence kill this pony who looks a awfully lot like the butler but in a world like this who knows this could be somepony else or maybe his soul is know bound to serve her. I also l couldn't help but notice that cadence doesn't have the black hair replacing her lighter pink hair at this time.
Its a shame such a cute and innocent pony has turn too the dark side in the blink of an eye.

Oh, Caddie... Love it! She seems so innocent and nervous. It's great comparison to the Cadence we see later. So curious as to why she went down this path.

I lack the skill and patience to convert a poem the size of Macbeth into an MLP crossover. A single soliloquy is one thing, but a 18119-word poem is something else entirely. Still, if that's something you'd like to see, I recommend suggesting the idea to others.
