Is this comic a ghost too? While I don't necessarily like the idea of Apple-bully, the mystery and slight sense of dread is perfect for this time of year, also I like the slightly lemony snicket/ Addams family art style. I do so hope this continues in that spirit I will add this to my watch list.

I'm sure he is very busy these days, but I wish he could take a little time each week to work on the comic or at least post a quick hello. I'm starting to get the feeling he just doesn't care about it anymore. Disappointing, I love the art style and the story is great.

Don't. Telling someone to do what you want them to do is never good, no matter how connected they are to the project themselves. You shouldn't say things like "it's a complete mystery why he doesn't just sit down and figure something out", no matter how good your intentions are. Because that's called rushing the artist. Let him figure out things on his own. If he stops, he stops, if he takes a break, no matter how long, let him.

I disagree. A promising piece of art, be it a story, a comic series, whatever, should always be continued. Letting it die it's what I would consider a sin.
If an author or artist struggles with continuing something, then there are plenty of ways to get around the block and continue it. Even if the infamous "RL stuff" gets in the way of something, one should never let it come so far that this leads to the cancellation of a project, but rather find creative ways to incorporate it into a schedule.
If someone tells you they can't, take it with a grain of salt. This is merely an excuse then and a sign of unwillingness to do so and of a lack of dedication.
There is always a way and the completion of the art piece should come first and foremost, especially if such a great story was begun like here. As a good and responsible artist, you simply do not discontinue or cancel something.

What the actual fuck. Never force an artist to do anything. They have a goddamn life. Let them have it. Do not fucking make someone do anything unless it's for their own good. When it comes to a real life person, keep their wellbeing and interests in mind. Telling an artist to continue something that they've lost interest in is like telling someone to run a marathon when they've decided to take time to take care of their family just because "It was a promising career."
There is ways to get around things! But that doesn't mean that you're still going to want to do it after all the time it usually takes. Besides, no matter how much you can try, you'll always reach rock bottom at one point. You'll always be vulnerable to """""RL stuff""""" (Which is a real fucking thing, asshole. Once again, artists have a goddamn life.). Also, you can't always just reschedule things. Not Real Life things anyway.
DON'T take it with a grain of salt. Don't take anyone's feelings with a grain of salt. That is not just "merely an excuse" or a "sign of unwillingness to do so and of a lack of dedication." Sometimes? Yes it could be, but not always. It could be anything, from Depression, to Anxiety, to pressure, anything. Hell, it could be that that person is sick, or about to die, or being in an abusive situation. They might literally not be able to do it. Don't take "I can't" with a grain of salt. Just fucking don't.
There may or may not be a way, but that second part of your sentence is not fucking true. No matter what YOUR FEELINGS SHOULD COME FIRST. A story can always be summed up. Did Slither not say they know the whole story? Besides, if they don't or something happened, people can always speculate. That's why headcanons exist. If they ever come back and those are discredited, there's always AU's. If not, then all you can do is speculate and hope that whatever happened, they're alright. If they come back and end up changing their mind, then you can just encourage them to pursue what they want to pursue. As a good and responsible and respectful and fucking polite and goddamn fan that has a fucking heart you simply respect the artist's decision and if they stop being someone you like, oh well, you can always just "get around" it and "continue".
Also, who the fuck cares if letting a comic series die is a sin to you? Homosexuality is a sin to the bible, and yet people are still homosexual and are still going to continue loving their own gender. Hell, there's still homosexual christians out there that are dating their own gender.
Never, ever force anyone to do anything unless you know, 100%, that it's good for them and that they want to do it. AKA, Don't be an entitled asshole. You are not entitled to anything but you're own free will, life, and creations.

I've just found this comic, thanks mostly to this Don't Starve mod. (So thanks, DerpTime, for making it.)
But this hasn't been updated since May? Well darn. Don't think that'll keep me from following along though! I've stuck through longer hiatuses, cancellations and unexpected returns. So, as long as this gets finished and I don't die, I'll be around for the end of it.

Man, I remember back when I first found this comic as I saw a random page on the Internet and decided to see what it was about. There were only about 13 pages by then and I instantly fell in love with the style and characters. I remember how coming home to find a new page made my day as I followed the story through the years.
It quickly became my favourite comic and one of the reasons why I started drawing ponies. Even if you don't spend that much time here I wanted to stop by and say thank you for all of this, and be sure that if this amazing series continues and comes to an end, I and many others will be here to read it
