She has lovely eyes,first of all. But what I really like is the half-reptilian hand. I'm not sure if it's acting on it's own scratching her like that, or why she is doing that to herself. The blood stands out so clearly on the pale skin and against the snow.

I keep meaning to comment on this... Most lovely... I love the background and how nicely you rendered her skin. I feel like her finger with the bloodsmear looks more like she's holding a stick or something. Lovely hair as well.

Pity includes hopelessness for the subject's future, to me anyway. I think you mean compassion. She doesn't seem to be in some Gestalt from which there is no effective escape; i.e., there's nothing I can do to help her.
