Indeed, though we can't really blame or condemn the Harlequin, as it is just another Ladybird.
The environmental harm is the fault of well meaning people with good intentions but poor insight...
Alternatively they were just out to make a fast buck and it is they we should be hunting down and culling...

It was introduced to the USA by tomato growers in the 1980's and quickly became the most common Ladybird. It was more recently introduced in Europe for pest control and arrived in the UK perhaps by accident in 2004.

In Poland there was time that they took over beaches. There were swarms of them. I thought that they just migrated... Nice to know the reason. People never learn...
