Description

My second character for the Hiems Mansion RP. Finished finally, very happy~~! ^.^ Had to look at reference pictures of burgers for tips on how to shade it. Now I'm seriously craving a burger!!
I had to move the text a little since his big silly staff was getting in the way.

Name: Matthias Garland
Nickname: Matti
Age: 15
Race: Human
Powers/Skills: He has supernatural powers such as the ability to speak with ghosts, sensing auras and dispelling evil. But his powers have steadily weakened over time because of his neglect of daily training. Primarily an exorcist, however.
Hobbies: Going to the arcade, eating, listening to music, exploring off-limits places and whatever strikes him as interesting at the time, really.
Likes: Burgers, any junk food for that matter, soft drinks, milk, sleeping, toys like yo-yos and spinning tops, arcades and exploring.
Dislikes: Meditating, studying, being late, getting up early, being preached to, sneezing, vehicles (the faster they go, the worst off he is), vegetables and hot weather.
Fears: Losing his powers for good.
Personality: He is a cheerful boy with a short attention span and even worse memory. He is all up for having fun but always ends up forgetting his duties or even procrastinating on doing them until it's too late. He tries hard but often falls short. He is also known for having a very short temper and little patience; when something doesn't go his way, he tends to curse about it. Loudly.
Background: Born and raised on a solitary mountain dedicated to the training of supernatural abillities, Matthias was a great student who wholly looked up to his older brother, Valerian, a talented medium indeed. But Matthias' world fell apart when Valerian stopped his training because he was dumped by a fellow trainee and it was revealed the only reason he tried hard was to impress her. In a fit of defiance, Valerian left the mountain to live the modern life and kept in contact with Matthias only through letters. One day however, the letters stopped and Matthias, fearing the worst, left the mountain in search of him. On his travels though, he was introduced to the modern life... and really began to like it! Junk food, carnivals, toys and concerts... there were so many fun things to do! Despite getting distracted by all these things, Matthias managed to find his brother in the end... perfectly fine. And living with a new girlfriend. It turns out the reason he hadn't replied was because he had gotten a cell phone and had simply forgotten the idea of letters entirely. Now that the danger was over, Matthias intended to go back home but he realized during his trip his powers had severely weakened and panicked. He told his family he was off to train some more in another village but instead went to Hiems Mansion in the hopes of recovering his powers... and finding more fun modern day trinkets!
Interesting Quirk: When he drinks alcohol, he mysteriously seems to regain his powers... but at the cost of his soberness. Sweet things put him in a foul mood.
He's also short.
