Description I was bored (again), so I decided to draw a couple of doodles of the dragons from "How to Train Your Dragon". This is the result of my perfectionism.

So, here are my random thoughts about each dragon:

*The Night Fury (AKA Toothless)*
-He's my favorite, without question. Not only does he look adorable (when he's not angry), his personality is just downright loveable. He can be really mischievous and finicky, but he's also incredibly loyal to Hiccup. Oh, and I didn't bother drawing him with that broken tail of his... I couldn't for the life of me find a good reference for that. -_-;

*The Deadly Nadder*
-Another one of my favorite's, simply because of how colorful it is. I also like its raptor-like appearance and its spiky but poisonous tail. Although it looks fantastic, I wouldn't want to train one myself... It's a little too spiky for my comfort.

*The Gronckle*
-This one was in the original book, and it definitely looks a lot better in the movie than in the book IMO. In the book, it was classified as one of the ugliest dragons ever, but makes up for its looks with how tough it is in battle. It is also mentioned to be somewhat lazy and admittedly a little stupid... Not that I care. Despite it's looks, I wouldn't mind having one around, as I'm pretty lazy myself.

*The Monstrous Nightmare*
-This guy was also in the original book, and boy, it's even more fearsome in the movie. If there were a physical representation of Pyrophobia, this would be it. Scary appearance, check. Razor sharp teeth and talons, check. Lights itself on fire when angry... Big check. This dragon's not something to mess around with, especially if you happen to be afraid of fire. No wonder it's called a Nightmare. Geez...

*The Hideous Zippleback*
-A two-headed dragon isn't all that original. What is unique about it is that one head breathes flammable gas while the other ignites it with sparks. It's a pretty devastating combination when you think about it. It could create a massive explosion with just one big cloud of gas, which it can also use to conceal itself from enemies. It would be really difficult to see coming.

*The Terrible Terror*
-The second smallest dragon in the known world (the smallest is the Fire Worm, which is essentially our very own Salamander). These troublemakers were pretty much the comic relief in the movie and TV show. Although they are small, they shouldn't be underestimated. These guys can take out your kneecaps just for looking at them funny. Also to note, they come in flocks, so they're like seagulls... only worse.

*The Grapple Grounder*
-This dragon never made an appearance in the film or the show, but it does appear in the games. It's a real shame too. This guy looks freaking awesome. It is believed that the Grapple Grounder was planned to be in the movie, but was unfortunately scrapped during development. In the games, it was the toughest dragon and was used during the final boss battle. It's incredibly difficult to take down because of how big it is, and it can also use an oxygen-based breath attack like Toothless. It mostly uses its tail as a weapon. It may be able to appear in HTTYD 2, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.

Zipplebacks are my favorite, no questions asked.
However, I need to wait until the second one- Hiccup's mother's dragon looks pretty interesting.

You managed to make them look so appealing, I'd wish to have one of each, including that lovely Gronkle ) Nightmare looks cool allright, and i also wish the grapple grounder made it into the series at least

Admittedly, out of all of them, I think the Monstrous Nightmare turned out the best. I'll also admit the Gronckle is one of my favorites even though it's supposed to look ugly. I think the same principal applies to me liking Diggersby too, if that's a good enough explanation.

It's a real shame the Grapple Grounder never made it into the main series. Oh well, at least it's still in the games, and it's playable once you beat the final boss. I used to have the DS version of the game, but I don't have it anymore for some reason...

Haha  Missing a few from the TV show, but still.  I love how the Terrors are a great tribute to Book Toothless, especially when Hiccup and the crew train them to be message carriers.  Just wish they had a little more screen time...

I have seen the TV show, but I simply went with drawing the most well known dragons from the film along with my favorite from the games. I can't just draw every single one of them on one page. That would be WAY too many.

And yeah, the Terrible Terrors are awesome tributes to the Common/Garden Dragons from the original book. Making them the comic relief was a good idea, especially with how vicious the little guys can be. XD

"Short-man syndrome", some call it. Like how little dogs are more aggressive and vocal than bigger ones.

... I want one as a pet in real life.

Because of this, I like big dogs preferably. And I guess big dragons too. XD

I dunno... I can image it'd be a pain to groom, feed, house...
