Personally I thought AJ was one of the better games in the series. It's also a way to show that the AA series is strong enough to switch out the protagonist (Phoenix was still in the game so...) and the series can still stand. Ace Investigator doesn't even have Phoenix in it and that game was pretty good.

I actually feel Apollo's pain because my best friend at work died one night after she went to bed. They never did an autopsy so we never found out how she died.

It's so bad that Clay is already gone!

NO! I refuse to believe that Clay Terran is gone! It has to be a trick! There's no solid evidence in the game to prove it!
1. The photo of his "corpse" looks more like an injured unconscious Clay who needs medical attention!
2. Since there's a lot of forged evidence these days, the so called "Autopsy Report" Could actually be a medical report from the hospital he was secretly admitted into.
3. He could've been pronounced legally dead so if the phantom thought he succeeded he wouldn't come after Clay to try and finish the job.
4. Clay could have gone into hiding after he recovered so the phantom doesn't get wind of this and because of that, he can't even see Apollo again because it would be too risky. Plus he can't forgive himself for putting his best friend through that much grief for nothing!
