Wow! This is fantastic. Great detail...this wouldn't have been easy. I am just getting into macro myself and find getting depth of field and sharpness incredibly tricky when shooting at very close proximity to subject.
Well done, you should be very proud of yourself.
Regards, Grace.

The things we put ourselves through to take that perfect shot huh?. At least you didn't get frostbite.
Thanks for all the fav's. You have some great shots in your gallery.
Cheers, Grace.

Well, it took me about half an hour in a very cold environment:laugh:
I've used a red scarf and dragged it on the fresh snow then I've searched the perfect subject.
Mounted my 18-55mm lens backward on the body of the camera with a reversing ring and started to shoot.
Te hard part was the manual focus on the subject because with the lens backward you have no auto focus, so...
But I've done it after a lot of attempts.

I can't imagine how hard it must have been to get this shot! But it must be worth it! Seeing all the details of a snowflake captured forever is a real treat! Sometimes, you can see them fall on a piece of clothing and you can try to inspect them, but they melt too fast or they are blown away...snowflakes have such a fleeting existence.
Of all the countless myriads of snowflakes to come and go, this snowflake must be happy to be forever remembered <3
