Good acting! Here we have a picture of my life holding me hostage .... ha! Seriously though, things have been busy. Buuut I finally finished the first of my current coloring projects! As I said in the sketch this is a scene from "Once a Pirate" (www.fanfiction.net/s/5659076/1… ); I'm starting to believe I will never get tired of reading, rambling about and scribbling pictures from that story. No spoilers, though. You know what to do.

This one took me forever to color because I stupidly decided to do a full background, all hand colored with a few digital enhancements as finishing touches. Here's how it looked earlier on, as well as a preview of the other two I'm currently working on: sta.sh/01q0ni92z3cs The one of Kit on Karnage's shoulders I'm doing two different ways. 1.) No inks whatsoever and 2.) Full inks. The no ink version (pictured to the left) is basically done but I wanna wait and post them together, or at least at the same time.

Haha! Dude, I literally just laughed out loud. It's funny because in the story Karnage actually tells Kit "Keep talking if you want a shave," XD

Nice! The red background gives it kind of an ominous feel, like a bloodbath is about to ensue. This is probably a concern on Kit’s part most of all.

I’ll make you a deal. You never get tired of sketching OaP and I’ll never get tired of loving the sketches. You’ve done so much that I thought appropriate today to edit my persistently blank FFN profile with a plug for your DA account. It only gets viewed by like three people a year, but I hope it helps make some new Socks fans.

Thanks (and good deal )! I do feel bad that the blade isn't facing the right way on this one (in that respect the older sketch is better) but that angle was so frustrating. I suppose this could be a split second right before Karny amps up the serious-ness.

Awh, thank you so much for the plug on FFN -- very much appreciated! I've actually thought of creating a subfolder in my TS fan art gallery for all the drawings related to OaP, No Time, etc. But it would take a while to go back through them all and many of the unfinished scribbles are on pages of otherwise random K&K sketches.

The blade position looks completely viable to me (and Kit’s “urk!” reaction to it ). I truly don’t care if a pic from a fic is off on particular details, I’m just thrilled and flattered you’ve drawn them. ^_^ That said, I can never help but to scour out the particulars because I appreciate all the little details you make sure to get in. Case in point, for this particular pic, when I first saw the sketch I thought the only detail you got wrong was that in the actual story scene Kit wasn’t wearing his scarf at that time (and who cares, it’s better with)

Bu-ut... it occurred to me later that of course he was wearing it. I had it wrong. I’m digressing bit I guess the point is that going forward if I have any questions about OaP I’ll know who to ask.

I can't remember what I was doing an hour ago but I can remember tiny details from whatever it is I'm obsessed with. Priorities, eh? XD I clearly recall Kit still had the scarf on even in the last scene of chapter 13. It was one thing that made me smile (and gave me hope) through the heartbreak of that original ending. I guess my ocd comes in handy sometimes -- of course when I do make a mistake (like Karny's ear in the No Time sketches) it bothers me more than it should.

Considering, the hand guard faces away from Kit, it's certain, that the sharp edge does so, too. Pretty nice to say, that Karnage does not want to take any risks, even while bluffing.
Let's hope, whoever they try to fool, does not catch on to this little detail ^^

Weellll, that's my bad (and lack of talent) actually. In the story the blade of that cutlass is absolutely facing towards Kit. I just couldn't get it (or Karny's hand) to look right with that angle so I'm gonna say this is a split second before he puts the blade to Kit's throat. Gotta make it look believable, yes?

Edit: I did an older sketch last summer where it is facing the right way but I wasn't as happy with that one (top row, far right): Sketch Time

Do not worry. I can absolutely see, that it would be rather difficult to draw it, without looking somewhat arkward. Heck, just holding the cutlass this way in real life like this would look and propably feel awkward. So i think, all in all, this is pretty well done ^^

Thanks! I've never been very good at inanimate objects (or anthros for that matter) but this obsession is certainly giving me some practice.
