Seeing how Lin allows those brats (save Asami , the ever so considerate) to belittle her is beyond painful .
Yet however weird it might sound, I'm thankful to Bryke for bringing the good ole' angst back.

Yeah...I cried for Lin too when I watched this. It was heartbreaking. When we finally got to the end and had Korrasami, all well and good, I still asked...what about Lin? Everything she'd suffered. Where was her happy ending? I just wanted to see her dance just one time.

You know, after everything that's been between her an Su Yin, it's really difficult to imagine a truly peaceful reconciliation which would not be OOC at that... But at the same time, yes, I indeed agree with you, it'd be very important for her.

Меня, честно сказать, малость смущает некоторый нездоровый ажиотаж вокруг этого моего скетча (кажись, всё рэддит безблагодатный 
К тому же, вполне ожидаемо (и нормально!), что минимум каждый пятый захотел (и нарисовал!) этот эпизод, потому что не только с эмоциональной точки зрения момент прекрасен, но ещё и аниматоры в кои-то веки выложились на полную с руками и этим изумительным челодланием!
Хорошо прорисованные пальцы порою стоят десятков лиц, и это именно тот редкий случай

Кстати, сначала я хотела нарисовать этот момент в твоем стиле , но из-за отсутствия опыта и навыков я решила, что запросто все испорчу, и я передумала (вся работа выполнена акварелью, кроме волос).
Я считаю, что если человек решил "перерисовать с экрана" какой-либо момент, то он действительно запал ему в душу, и художник может добавить в работу частичку себя, сделав ее еще более впечатляющей (как в твоем случае, например). А по поводу оригинальности, может, каждый мог создать подобную работу, но она не была бы столь впечатляющей без некой истории (если бы я увидела твой рисунок, не посмотрев "Легенду о Корре", то я бы просто сочла его очень красивым), которую вряд ли станешь продумывать ради одного\нескольких рисунков.
В конце концов, портретистов, анималистов и пейзажистов тоже можно назвать просто "перерисовщиками" природы .
А аниматоры в этой серии меня действительно порадовали .
Надеюсь, тебе ясна моя точка зрения, по крайней мере, я старалась высказать ее как можно понятнее .

I was really enjoying Korra this season. Finally, a season where the Avatar's hot headed attitude is used to make her seem fierce, rather than just a naive idiot. Then this moment happened. In one shot, she's managed to push herself back down to naive and vain. I imagine she gets this from Katara, as she too had a tendency to not mind her own business. On the bright side, my respect for Lin, which dwindled thanks to season 2, is now extremely high. I realize how hard it must've been to contain herself from bursting out at both her family and Korra's unnecessary accusations.

I agree with what you said about how painful it is to see Lin let those brats belittle her. I feel bad for her. I have seen some people put Lin down for how she is acting, but to me there is a reason why she has such a hard wall up. And to see her cry at the end, to break down like that, I cried . I swear I feel more attached to Lin in this series than any of the other characters. I cried when she lost her bending in Season 1 now this when she broke down. I half-expected her to kick Korra's butt for what she said to her, but she didn't. Though, I have to say, her being so hard like that through-out ep. 5 I liked. Love the intro where she popped Naga's ball. I started laughing for some reason.
I just hope next episode we find out what happened to make her have such a wall up(I am guessing we will). But I hope they apologize for being so hard on Lin once they find out why she is shutting everyone out... Have to wait and see I guess...
And by the way, I love this draw of her. You did good.

Haha, well they are pristine angels. Can't you see the halos above their heads? The ones being held up with horns? (Haha, sorry, hope that makes sense, is a joke my family says a lot ^^")
I know, Bryke just need to explain some things to us. But they seem to want us to not know things Hate it! And by the way ep. 5 went I can see that happening, them being goody-goodies and Lin is blamed for all the tension between the family.
At times wish I could just jump into the show and hug Lin and be like, I love you and believe in you! Though she'd probably just kick my ass lol

The problem is we don't know why Lin is acting that way. All we see is Lin being a bitch to her family members and refusing to explain herself. Something we saw her do before in Season 1, when she held an immediate grudge against Korra because of her lingering bitterness over Tenzin. Yes, she got over herself but it was still a crap thing to do. Frankly, there's no reason to believe that, when she finally does explain herself, that the reason is going to be a good one.
Not that that would make her a bad person or make a bad story (Snape was one of my favorite charas in Harry Potter and he was a complete shitheel), but I'm on the side of those calling Lin on her bullshit. When all you show people is a bitter old woman, that's what they're going to see you as.

I know we don't know why yet, -I'm sure we will know sooner or later- but I just feel there is a real reason behind how she is acting, especially towards her family. I understand why you're with those who call her on her bullshit, but knowing someone similar to how she is acting (bitter towards many people) there usually is a reason why. I mean, there is a good chance she is just being an ass, but, I just feel there is something in her past making her acting like this. And the reason I feel that, is how she broke down at the end of the episode. If she didn't, I probably would be with everyone.

I'm hoping she comes around (like she did in S1) and that there's an actual good explanation (unlike S1). But if there isn't a sincere apology to Opal, she goes in the "Fuck Right Off" bin.

she does apologise actually. At the end of the next episode. She opens up to Opal and tells her not to repeat her mistakes and encourages her to asks her mum to go train with Tenzin. She falls Ill like Zuko did and comes out of it a much more pleasant person.
