I'm not so sure. Whats inside him is onion. Onions are full of juice, which, when an onion is cut, creates fumes, burning fumes which causes tears.
So the answer, its the fumes. Since Onions don't have complicated nervous systems, let alone a brain.
Here's the real question though. I see red juice. So is he REALLY an onion, or a tomato?.. Or just a really ugly ketchup bottle?
