I honestly think it'd lead to Goku actually dominating Frieza in his Golden Form, but the end would still play out where he's put out if commission, but instead of the laser gun by Sorbet (I think that's his name), but from the strain of Kaio-Ken.
Which then I'd think would lead to Vegeta coming in, but considering that Frieza would be more hurt than normal, I don't think he'd even have enough energy to try and destroy the Earth which leads to him getting killed by Vegeta without Whis's time rewind.
Afterwards, Goku would probably train to utilize Kaio-Ken better which would probably lead to him using Kaio-Ken ×20 during the Universe 6 tournament and eventually during the Goku Black Arc and Tournament of Power, hed probably go further with it like maybe ×30 and pushing his limit ×40.
