Father’s Day 2014 continues with the Christian Home Video series “VeggieTales”, focusing on my favorite Father/Son duo of the show, Dad and Junior Asparagus.

They had a lot of great moments (mostly the Bed Scene ones) in the GOOD… I mean, the classic, nice… 1990s episodes, like “Where’s God When I’m S-Scared?”, “Are You May Neighbor?”, and others like “God Wants Me to Forgive Them?”, and many others later on. I believe they have played Father and Son in every serial with them in… except “Pistachio: The Little Boy Who Woodn’t”. Personally, I think it wood’ve been better if Dad was Geppetto instead of a certain overused Cucumber. In conclusion, it is a very wonderful relationship between the characters, both onscreen and maybe off-screen.

The art was based around the bedroom moments in the early videos, which I wish there were more of 9the moments). I surprisingly didn’t need image reference for this picture. I used pencil before overlaying it and adding color… sadly, I am not too happy with Dad Asparagus’ anatomy here… Oh well, the shadowing is nice.
