Without the aid of the EU, which is no longer considered canon, Xehanort takes this handily. IMO, Keyblade magic>Non EU Force.Β

Let's see...they're both masters of Darkness, they're both masters of sword fighting, they're able to keep up with younger opponents, and they are able to manipulate others to turn to the Dark Side. I would have to give the edge to Darth Sidious because of his abilities such as Force Lighting and Force Storm, those moves Β could cause critical damage to Xehanort's body also, Darth Sidious' lightsaber could cut threw Xehanort's weapon. However, if Xehanort combines his body with someone younger and stronger than him such as Terra he could have a slight edge, but Palpatine has the same ability so the battle between these Shadows of Darkness could become tie or an extremely long battle.Β

Could a lightsaber really cut through a Keyblade? Keyblades are magical, don't forget.

keyblade is not as viable is not as fast and it's harder toΒ maneuver with this weapon and it's not good lightsaber 7 or more forms of ligtsaber combat Darth Sidious will off balance him with his mastery of 7 forms .

Don't forget Xehanort's ability to teleport and the barrier he used to protect himself from Braig's shots.

But he cannot search victory in swordfight ( Keyblade is not a sword ) .

keyblade has cut through buildings and xehanort's has destroyed a world. so better than a sword. also Xehanort has frozen people solid and lets also remember xehanort actually can possess people susceptible to darkness. which I think everyone can agree. sidious is susceptible.then we would also have to consider the fact Xehanort can with magic change a flatland into a mountain range and create and manipulate with only his mind 3 seperate tornadoes.
