I had an artteacher many years ago painting abstract art with different media, too! He had been at the Bauhaus/Weimar and later he learned from Kandinsky and Klee. Only available in German de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Grew…

I've had a look at his work... it's very beautiful and I can see how he was inspired by Kandinsky... how wonderful to have such a great artist as your mentor!! Thank you for introducing me to his work, Volker!

Being at school (an eternity ago) I visited an exhibition with his work and lateron I had been at a bookstore he promoting his book! I even own a signed version - I always adored him! He had been a weird guy! My pleasure, Susan

I had been inspired but I had no talent for real art. I preferred playing my guitars

Your beautiful photography shows you do have a real talent for art and a wonderful, creative eye!! My ex-husband and two youngest are musicians and I love music but I can't play a note!! Β

Photography is just a substitute for playing guitar no more. My three guitars I bought in the 70s are sleeping in their cases

MFLAME913 [2016-09-23 21:12:24 +0000 UTC]

All i see is something that looks like someone trying to paint on bumpy plastic without sanding it. I dont get it, can someone explain.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

SootheNoo1959 In reply to MFLAME913 [2016-09-23 22:56:52 +0000 UTC]

I suppose it does look like that...
This is a style of abstract expressionism -I would consider it to be Neo-expressionism due to the significant texturalism and in the Action ( gestural ) art movement. It expresses my emotions and personality and also emphasizes the physical act of painting itself, drawing attention to the 'process of creating'.
Β
Not everyone 'gets' abstract art and that's great... it would be a boring, old world if we all liked the same thing but I'm glad my painting made you stop, look and question-that's really all I could ask for as an artist, so thank you so much!

In my interpretation, there are mobs of white, grey and black coloured people around and about a great desert rock. In middle of a long journey, possibly in search of a new home.

It's abstract. Completely up to you.
