How DARE you say those things about Rowling? She is one of the most awesome people in the world. If it wasn't for her, there would be no Snape (not that I would mind that). She is damn right about Snapes character, and never said that she don't understand him. Snape let children take the full blast of his anger, and still had the balls to think himself superior to James (who matured unlike Snape). I have been through a similar hell to the one that Snape lived, and there is no excuse for his behaviour at all. Snape-fans can be really stupid when it comes to their own "God" sometimes.

I have to say, indeed, many years ago, when I painted this, I was being indeed quite intolerant and I'd say I'm a much better and more composed person right now. I don't think the things written in this picture, and never have, although there is a slight chance that I assumed Snape as a character would react this way to the idea of Rowling having chosen this fate for him. Still, even then the idea of the picture is that he IS bitter and vindictive. And everyone knows that about Snape. He's no angel, certainly not, but then again, people wouldn't love him half as much if he was the cliched virtuous character, the hero. I think it's his mixture of motives, of the struggle between his unnatural moral choices in life and his innate predisposition to darkness that made him such an interesting character in the first place. I am not trying to claim he deserves redepmtion. If you've been through a similar hell to Snape, you contributed for your true love's death and what not, then I am not in the position to say anything more. But I don't consider Snape my "God"; nevertheless, I've always liked him as a character, from the start, and I would have still liked him even if there was no "excuse" for his actions. In my opinion, he's just unique and one of the most multi-layered characters Rowling ever developed in her literature.

I'm very sorry to hear that you've been through something similar to Snape. I don't think any good living person deserves this. But then again, we learn from what happens to us. It's true Snape isn't all sunshine and daisies, and he could have made better choices, chosen to be a better person... and not a death eater but then again, I don't know if he was raised with a strong concept of right and wrong to begin with... As for the bad guy, I don't know if I'm one of the people to be considered "a bad guy person". I firmly believe that in every person/character there's gotta be something good, otherwise he cannot be truly loved. Darkness in itself, deprived of good, cannot evoke affection. Anyway, thanks and I hope we got over the misunderstanding from so long ago, I was quite immature when I painted this picture...

I'm so glad you think so. Oh yeah,I can relate to him a lot too,not just because of love or school, but my family too,and everything... I know one should try to overcome what was in the past, but some people just don't deserve to be treated all kindly and sweetly.
I'm glad I came across you.

Yes,I think you make sense... I must say I try to be nice and go by the good way and all that,so no one could really guess, but I often spill a lot of blood in my mind and I know the dark of the mind, that's for sure...

That's really true. One should do what one can for the world,no matter how nasty the world can be. And Death isn't a big deal,if you leave something worthy enough behind you...

I think Snape had enough reasons to be at least bitter and of course vindictive. Some of us aren't brave enough daring to be vindictive, so that we only become double bitter.
And thanks after all ,Mrs. Rowling, for insuting Snape any time you have a chance. This only achieves that people takes part for him more and more.
