Description Well, this has taken me probably over a year to finish, and had I not got my tablet it may have taken a lot longer! I'm still not completely satisfied with this. There are a lot of areas that need improvement, especially her face, which looks very strange...but this has been one long learning process and I'm glad I attempted it. This is actually the first thing I have created which looks close to what I had imagined before sketching it.

Please, if anyone views, full view!

Done in photoimpact, mostly with a mouse, finished with a tablet.

oooh i adore this concept! so sad and nostalgic, great choice of colors, they all blend very well together, the colors of a muted sunset. great detail work too, each leaf has it's own veins, even the designs on the stone at the top are shaded in full detail! not to mention those fingers, very realistic, they must have taken forever XD

i can see what you mean about the face, the nose seems a tad flat, for it has shading but seems to be lacking a highlight. it's in the right place though!
other than that it seems the mouth is a bit lower than it ordinarily sould be, which may be a result of perspective.. like if she's looking down then her mouth would certainly be lower, but the placement of her neck does not imply that that's what she's doing. on another note though the center of the clavicals or collar bones should be lower and more foreward, that is, more toward the left of the picture plane. right now their placement gives her too much space abover her cleavage. (the center of the collar bones and the sterno-cleido-mastoids [those muscles that go from the back of the ears to the collar bone center] should line up with the center of the cleavage)

ok, just thought i'd point a couple things out in case you wanted to go back into this for even more improvement, or if you wanted to know for future projects really great job, it's easy to see the amount of dedication tha went into this, and it certainly looks like you learned a lot! continue to experiment and challenge yourself like this, it's the best way to learn and grow as an artist... which of course you know already!

Oh thankyou, this is the best comment I've ever had!

Ah, something so simple as flatness should have been more obvious to me, I couldn't put my finger on what it was! And you're definitely right about the angle of the head and the neck. You've a good eye for noting the centre of the clavicles being too far over too. Thankyou so much for the feedback, I might just rework this at some point now, but it any case it's invaluable for my future endeavors.

PhotoImpact. Wewt!
Not many people appreciate the power of the program.

Love the colors in this piece. They remind me of Temporal Sands.

Hah! Well now having discovered photoshop I'm torn between the convenience of layers and being used to the tools in photoimpact...

Thanks for the comment, I hope everything's going well.

I can see why this would have taken you a long time. The colours through out the image is beautiful. And the pillars are devine. I like the symbolism behind this picture

Thankyou! I think this is why I like digital art, to be able to portray how the memory of her lover lingers in her heart.
