Well, the game itself isn't bad, as in, the gameplay is good, not as good as in Super Metroid or Metroid Fusion IMO, but still pretty fun. It's the new, reimagined Samus, who went from badass bounty hunter to basically, a fully obedient maid clad in armor. She's still more of a trope than a character, but at least she was a badass trope before, in Other M she's just sad.
So sorry, but seeing her in an actual maid outfit pretty much screams "OTHER M" to me XD
But a cute maid nonetheless ;3

Well, it tried at least, though I'd say it's still inferior to AM2R.
And to be fair, the backhand part wasn't badass, it was campy. It was the same level of campy as suplexing a ghost train or punching a shark. With the iconic missile launcher on you, the weapon that actually made you feel badass in Metroid games, getting into close quarters with Metroids is just silly.
This is neither Duke Nukem nor Broforce, so they should have used what made the early Metroids so popular instead of that kind of silly camp.
