Type-55X-K Königstiger
Overview: The original Type-55X class was laid down in 2215 as a special project intending to test a new kind of heavy battleship as rivalry to the Type-55M or Minerva Class which had been laid down a year earlier. When the ship was completed in 2217, it had a unique service life at the start. It mostly stuck to the outer regions of the Jove System testing its experimental cloaking device. When the cloaking device was proven a success, the current Jovian Empress would assign the ship as the flagship of a special squadron. The ship would return to the drydocks and the workers there would apply a special jet black paint to the type-55X. During this time, the vessel was fitted with a much stronger version of the standard engines, mounting 12 of these prototype engines. The ship had 4 Hyperwarp Drive engines installed at the time.

When the Nihon rebellion broke out, the only Type-55X took initiative and struck against a supply convoy and its attendant guard fleet of 4000 compared to the Black Lancer’s standard 1000 Ships. It proved itself quite well and was given a name after it beat 3 larger fleets that numbered a total of 12,000 ships. It was soon given the name Königstiger or King Tiger. Königstiger would prove herself a powerful ship during the Nihon Rebellion and would cut through the Nihon lines like a Lance.

After the war, a second and third ship, the Königintiger or Queen Tiger and the Königlichertiger or Royal Tiger, would be laid down.
Königintiger would take the mantle of being the flagship of the Black Sabers fleet while the Königlichertiger would take the mantle of the Black Swords Fleet. Both fleets share the same jet black livery as the Black Lancers. All 3 ships have recently come out of the docks with their new weapons installed and have gotten together with the rest of their fleets in preparation for war with the Tyranids. Due to recent developments against the Tyranids, an additional 12 Type-55X ships were laid down in special dockyards along with their own fleets.

In recent years, the Konigstiger type of Type-55X remains largely identical to how the first one rolled off the assembly yard. The weaponry has been upgraded along with the addition of Plasma and Autocannons. The armor has also been upgraded to 10ft as per standard across the battleship fleet. The previous shinra computers and shiro ai units have been replaced by Rikon and Tetradyne computers and JINA Ai units. Everything else remains identical.

Cloaking Device Notes:
Type-5 Gravimetric Cloaking Device: The Königstiger carries an experimental cloaking device on board allowing the vessel to disappear from sensors with ease. It is the only battleship fitted with such a cloaking device. The cloaking device is known as a Gravimetric Cloaking device utilizing Gravimetric Stealth. Gravimetric stealth is the ability to conceal a vessel or an object’s gravitational signature from the enemy. This uses a sophisticated active canceling field similar to a Tau field but extremely weak compared to such. This masks the vessel’s imprint on the fabric of spacetime and makes it very difficult to make out from the background emissions of the universe. However, there are problems with this as it prevents the vessel from firing or using its shields. This device was removed in 2244 during the refit

Type-25 Eldridge Graviton Quantum Multispectrum Cloaking Device[Current]: A brand new cloaking device formed to improve the overall stealth of the class, the Eldridge model was created after a Jovian scout ship witnessed the Battle of the Bassen Rift between the Scimitar and the Enterprise-E. The new cloaking device does everything that the Gravimetric type had but also hides the ship’s Tachyon and Anti-Proton signatures as well as reducing the subspace signature should the ship be in FTL. However problems with the cloak are still prevalent with shields and weapons creating notable disruptions in subspace and very specific thermal imaging can make out the hot reactor cores of the ship. The name came from the ship involved withh the Philadelphia Experiment.
