god i hate this bitch. profanity hates her too, dontcha pro?PRO: @#$%&?! ISHBALLAHLAHLAHLAHLAH *charges w/ scimitar at the martel face*
right.
but i had to draw her for my next "major compilation" (side project i got carried away with). that file is too big to work directly on top of anymore so i opened a separate image for martel's layer (which happens to be the foreground, so i couldn't spare any expense if ya get me).
i don't like to draw fugly stuff, so i made her as beautiful as i could afford, what with having to call in a million makeover ladies from jc penny and george lucas and pixar and harry potter and every ounce of effort it took to undo the years of bad fashion and poor skin care miss martel has endured. the background is kind of... plain... but like i said. i went broke un-dykifying her. couldn't even afford makeup. or anatomy art books to fix the million bajillion problems with this. it's gunna be mostly blacked out though.

i might scrap this... it's really dinky and only took one night to do. it's also pretty light for my usual stuff. and it got kind of blurry when i downsized it. EDIT btw i unscrapped it. cuz it's gud-drawn and stuff.

y'know, when you look at that tendril and imagine her with long hair, she mighta been really beautiful. but the army makes hags of us all. c'est la vie.

wow you really don't like her do you, well, she's one of my fav chars in the first anime, which is why I spent so much time on my pic of her. Well, I'm guessin you like how they cut down her screen time in brotherhood and you prolly love how they killed her off in both. Oh well, I like your version of her anyway, it's got a different flare to it that sets it apart from the other ones I've seen. (no, I'm not talking about any un-dykifying) So, umm, yea, thanks for not scrapin' it.

a lot of the hate was just transference to coincide well with the fan character (Profanity) who was in love with Greed and had been originally killed by Martel. i was also a bit of a fangirl. 9.9
i like her well enough now that i'm not obsessed with Greed. but she'd have be super-awesome for me to have LOVED her alongside that passion, brutha.

i tried to pretty her up. she doesn't have too bad a design i just think they soulda been flashier with her and given her a better personality to suit her background.

the light shade on her nose is a gradient that was used to shade it. i see it too because i used a cathode ray monitor when i did this but on the new monitor she looks like a pumpkin face.

she was fused with a snake, technically the snake's mind is as much a part of her as its body is. but there were cooler chimeras in FMA that weren't developed nearly as much D:

yeah. she participated in some dirty-war that the government covered up by arresting her and her comrades and... for some reason deciding to fuse them with animals in an alchemy laboratory. her and the snake's biological makeup are basically a mosaic of which only the human part is really visible 9since a small snake could be dispersed so evenly throughout her cell'r makeup).
i like her background because she's so anti-nation because of all that and feels remorse for her part in the war but... i still think she sucks. i only drew her for part in this: [link]

- she is bland
- they imply she has an attitude but it never shows up, she's just a predictable, unimpressive character with nothing really pertinent to say ever
- she has a shitty visual design, it's like Pantha from SMJ but not as striking; also it's as if they tried to make her ugly
- they gave her a whoopass background story but never expored it enough to really make me want to know or care what happened to her next
- she has a horrid engdub VA
in a nutshell, anyway.
in the very least, she is so weird looking that it's hard to start drawing her and fuck it up. she doesn't have to be pretty, and it's easy to make it "look like her."

also i think she is like a... dykey knockoff of Panther from SMJ. her attitude sucks too, it isn't cute or sassy or even badass. she's just lame

I wasn't a fan of her hair at first either. I prefer to pair her with Dorochet, though I've done one oekaki of her with Greed. You know that I'm currently pairing Greed and Envy which is a horrible fan sin that I can't deny, but I think Greed is best as a player with no definate one pairing. I like seeing art with him and Lust. Do you have preferred pairing for Greed?

I'm not a big fan of OCs but I'm not an OC basher either. I look forward to seeing art of Profanity some day, it sounds like a good match. Yes, my man and I do tend to pair Greed with random Devils Nest floozies. I'm a huge Izumi fan and I did have a gag comic idea for a one sided Greed x Izumi romance. There is a little art from that in my gallery if you're interested I'd love to hear your input!

tru dat! greed x izumi actually doesn't bother me. i don't liek or hate izumi; it seems like a well-rounded interesting matchup. just devious enough to be a little hot too; scandalous, but not overboard with the shock value or gayness.
pro is all over my gallery. in one page there should be like ten devs that have PRO#: xxxxxxx in the header/title.

tss again and again on this one. Ed cared. he cried his eyes out. he just had to move on and realized there was no gain in any other course of action.
and Profanity cared about Greed too; and she's as valid as valid OC can get.

al wasn't really involved with greed's death though. i've noticed that typically al tends to take things like a young man a lot more than ed does, toward the end of the series i figured out i really didn't like ed; he's so emotional and impulsive, i got sick of seeing him and hearing him. al's so well balanced.

Good drawing, definitely, but why do you hate Martel so much? She's a cool character. Not my favorite, but she deserves a little respect.
At least you didn't do a bashing picture. And you are a good artist. It just baffles me to see someone draw such a great picture of a character they hate.

hehe... i didn't draw her just for the hell of it though. this is just one collapsed layer from a very "involved" project posted just after this that signifies the ABSOLUTE HATRED between her and my OC. also i realized when i was drawing this that i wanted to make her a lot prettier than she actually was (in a realistic way). i don't like drawing stuff i don't like... so i drew her how i wished she looked. i dunno... in the series she's all eright but all the GxM fanppl made me hate her. i'm a very bitter fangirl.
