How do you make your lines so STRAIGHT? Mine are always ever so slightly crooked, and it bothers me the entire time I'm drawing it.

I use the pen tool in Photoshop 7.0. I don't know if you have that program, but the pen tool allows you to make a line between two points and you can bend it and curve it, and also change the line's thickness. It's really helpful for making your lines perfectly smooth ^^
I'd love to practice more freehand style with my tablet, but for some inexplicable reason the pressure sensitive feature is fuck'd up on my computer, so my lines end up looking REAL thick and messy when I try to do it by hand -_- *sigh* Such is life...

Hmm, sounds like you have the 'stimulate pressure' button on. I wouldn't know how to change it back on Photoshop, but maybe you can try going to "window" down to "workspace" and clicking "reset essentials"? That 'usually' helps me when something inexplicably changes in my Photoshop. You might not want to do it if you've permanently changed specific things in the past that you don't remember how to redo after the essentials have been reset

I always do 300 dpi, but I know what you mean-- it's hard sometimes getting those lines straight, even with the pen tool, or you end up with some weird curve or something. I really do envy those who can just use the stylus without relying on it. I know it takes years to get used to using it so that it feels natural, but I've never been very patient when it comes to stuff like that
I'll have to try that, tho I've just had to recently re-install PS, so it should already be set to default. The really weird thing, is sometimes the simulate pressure thing does work, but the next time I try it it doesn't There's just no rhyme or reason to it! My computer seriously just does whatever the hell it wants regardless of how much sense it makes XD
